Jessica Hook:
What’s your favorite 3Gun reticle? And what distance do you zero at?
I love the simplicity of the @eotech Vudu 1-8x, HC3 reticle, with a 50 yard zero (confirmed at 200 yards.)

@mandamarza @eotech 1-10x28mm FFP at 1x and 10x #.
I love this optic. Field of view is seriously impressive, especially since it doesn’t have distortion issues (which is common in high FOV LPVO’s). The pic shows a bit is distortion at the edges, but that’s mainly due to the size of my camera sensor being bigger than a retina and not adjusting the diopter to the camera lens. In person I would say the distortion is about half as noticeable at 1x compared to the pic.
Reticle is great for precision rifles or when a calibrated reticle system wouldn’t match up with a given setup (like the Mini Fix it sits on). At 1x the ‘speed ring’ is awesome and you get a nice MIL grid at 10x.
Eye box at 10x is tight, no way around that with a 1-10. 28mm lens helps but can only do so much. The clarity is great at 10x and there’s no ‘grey fog’ that I get with my Vudu 1-8 at max power. It really shines at higher magnification.
Reticle isn’t daylight bright in every condition, but when it’s not bright enough I wouldn’t even turn on illumination since a black etched reticle works great when it’s really sunny. But I’ve never been obsessed with getting daylight bright variable optics so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I chose this over a Khales 1-8 FFP, mainly due to wanting something set up more for distance shooting (2x more and better reticle). I also chose this over a March 1-10 LPVO mainly due to field of view.

#EOEVOLUTION never stops. The HWS has come a long way since the first prototype in the '90s. #EOTECH #missionfirst

Considering Getting one and a magnifier. I ordered a combo on amazon once and I think it may have been a counterfeit. The reticle looked good with the magnifier but flipped to the side the reticle looked blurry.

EOTECH_TNI_Announcement-01.jpg

Plymouth, MI (January 2023) – EOTECH, the leading manufacturer of Holographic Weapon Sights (HWS) and Magnifiers, has recently announced a sale of 1,000 of its sighting systems to the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Known as the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI), the Indonesian Military selected EOTECH’s Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) and magnifier, for use by the TNI(s) Special Forces unit, Komando Pasukan Khusus, also referred to as Kopassus. “This sale represents a new level of confidence between EOTECH and the TNI. We’ve always had a level of penetration into the Indonesian market, but not to this degree.” Said Frank Moss, Business Development Manager for Asia. “This recent acquisition represents the confidence in the quality, performance, and reputation of EOTECH’s products.” Moss went on to say, “We must also acknowledge the efforts of our in-country partners too, who did an amazing job promoting the EOTECH brand to the TNI”.

EOTECH is represented in Indonesia by Trident3 Adaptive Technologies Group SDN BHD, a Malaysian-based procurement management specialist. Trident’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Owen Bateman, was ecstatic at the outcome of the tender process, highlighting the synergy that exists between the two companies as a key ingredient in their collective success. “Trident aims to only provide best-in-class, proven and relevant solutions. It was an honor to have worked with EOTECH and provide the TNI with their equipment needs. I have every confidence in the quality of the EOTECH product line and look forward to supporting the TNI in the future”.

The TNI can expect delivery of the EOTECH optics within the coming months.

EOTECH Introduces the G43 and G45 Magnifiers in Flat Dark Earth

Plymouth, MI (January 5, 2023) – EOTECH Magnifiers enhance any EOTECH Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) by enlarging the target’s image when needed. EOTECH’s G43 and G45 magnifiers pair perfectly with any EOTECH HWS, transforming them into close to medium-range weapon sight systems. New for 2023, the G43 and G45 will be available in Flat Dark Earth color, to complement the FDE colored optics and firearms widely used.

The magnifiers include a Switch-to-Side magnifier mount with a locking, adjustable, quick detach lever. When mounted, the magnifier snaps into place behind the HWS when needed and out of the way when not required. Its ambidextrous design switches either to the right or left to accommodate the shooter’s preference. Both magnifiers feature tool-free vertical and horizontal adjustments for simple reticle centering and an adjustable diopter quickly focuses the magnifier to suit the user’s eyes.

“The biggest advantage the magnifiers offer with a Holographic Weapon Sight is that the dot size doesn’t change when viewed with magnification” said Mark Miller, Director of Product Management for EOTECH. “The target enlarges, but the dot remains 1MOA providing greater accuracy. This is different from red dots because their dots will grow in size at the same rate as the target, so no additional precision is gained."

Both the G43 and G45 magnifiers have similar specifications; the biggest difference is their magnification. The G43 is a 3X magnifier, while the G45 is a 5X. The G45’s additional 2X magnification allows precise aiming at greater distances. The G43, at 3X, offers a slightly wider field-of-view than the G45 for better situational awareness at mid-range distances. Choosing the best magnifier comes down to the user’s preference.

EOTECH designs and builds rugged, reliable, and innovative products for rigorous field use. The G43 and G45 inherit the battle-proven features of the EOTECH G33 magnifier. The G43 Magnifier is one of the most compact, lightweight magnifiers today. These magnifiers are impervious to the elements and work in a wide range of temperatures. Both are well-suited to any operational environment, from the jungles and deserts to the mountains and arctic.

EOTECH’s Prestige Warranty backs both the G43 and G45, and EOTECH guarantees every product to be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use for ten (10) years from the manufacturer’s date or customer’s proof of purchase.
