Eotech oddly dim

Just recently got a 552 and put new panasonic AA batteries in it, taking a proper sight picture the retical is very dim with the brightness turned all
the way up but it's the proper brightness when looking closer to the edges of the screen. Anyone else have this issue? Shod I try different batteries?

I agree, I have purchased a clone off eBay (knowingly and purposely for $50 shipping in) for a 22LR rifle. They are comparably dimmer then a real EoTech, and there are tons out there online for a few hundred bucks which are clones. If you bought from a reputable dealer then knock that off the checklist.

Also try a different type of battery. If your using alkaline, use a rechargable NIMH or vise versa to see if that may be the issue, perhaps it prefers a specific voltage.

Should be real. I got it on the EE from a member. The batteries were right out of the package. Will try energizer when I get home and call eotech to confirm the serial number. It was manufactured in 2007 and is the nv capable one if that has anything to do with it.

All mine blink when low battery. If it does not blink when you turn it on and the battery is low...You have a clone

Switched to copper top batteries and did some trouble shooting with the buttons. It's good to go now!
