I have an CZ 858 with the nea upper and lower railles handguard and I want to mount a eotech XPS on the handguard.

Is there any problem with that mount? Will the eotech be cooked by the heat? Is a scout mount to hard on optics?

Thanks

Saw lots of EOtechs cooked/rattled to death on forward mount rails on AKs. Couldn't replace them fast enough, every range practice several would go down.

no way a 858 should have a forward optic. It was designed for iron sights, anything more then a fast fire 2 or 3 or some small red dot, the rifle because #### to handle.

I have had an EOtech on the cantilever mount with no issues. I moved the EOtech to my CSA with the side mount and have had no issues except for brass hitting it.
I can see that mounting it on the handguard would expose it to alot of heat, and that might not be good for it.

I run a Bushnell 1x32 Trophy T-dot on my 858. It is grossly huge, but it went through the Tactical Response Intermediate distance Fighting rifle course with no issues at all. Can't say the same for the TRS-25 I ran for Fighting Rifle. It got full of water on the inside of the sight.

It is a little big, but I love the T-dot recticle. Much more useful than just a dot. So far it has held up very well.

Oh crap. I just traded for an eotech. I was gonna put it on my cz on the nea top rail to try it out. Was thinking probably get the bc tactical mount later on. Eotech might be too big for bc tactical mount. Never even thought about it being too hot on the top rail. I was originally thinking bc tactical with Sparc. But a trade came up for eotech so I thought I'd try it out. I like the railed dust cover but pricey. Might have to go Sparc set up and put eotech on su-16(still looking for one). Just have to take more guns when going shooting to let it cool down.:) Does anybody know how many rounds is too hot for eotech on nea railed fore end?

I use a T1 on a BC tactical handguard. I've had many range sessions with over 200 rnds fired at a fairly rapid pace. Never had a heat issue. Carbine is on second 1200 rnd case!

I have had an XPS-2 on an NEA upper hg for the last 1K or so rounds. Shot it plenty hot enough on numerous occasions. Zero issues. Seems to return to zero quite well, too. Seen this setup on Czech soldier's VZ 58 in field conditions--That was an internet pic, so take that for what its worth..... Still and all--it works for me!

I have an eotech forward mounted on an NEA rail - I've been using it without issue for 2 years - it is reliable, holds zero, and makes shooting even more fun.
