I heard that those smg's really heat up. Wouldn't that shorten the life of the EoTech's batteries or is it designed to with stand that type of punishment?

I'd be skeptical that someone went through all the trouble to mount two picatinny rails to the heatshield.

The soldier was probably just trying to ###y-up the firearm for his foreign weapons famil-shoot.

Ya, both sight and picatinny handguard appear to be zap-strapped to barrel heat-guard. Undoubtably a gag. Silly yank.
