Eotech problem

Good day all,

I have an Eotech (I can't recall the model #, but it uses the small N type batteries). It seems to have a short in the electronics. I bought it used a while back and put new batteries in it, it worked fine. The next day I went to mount it on my rifle and turned it on, nothing. I have replaced the batteries a couple of times, with similar results. I have called a couple of dealers, and have been told that there is no repair service in Canada.

I know that if I ship it to the US I will most likely never see it again.

My question is, has anyone had a similar problem? If so what did you do about it? Also, does anyone have any experience with sending one back to the US and getting it back?

Any input would be appreciated.

I have just spent about a half hour trying to find a service depot for Simmons scopes as they bought Weaver I was told and I have one that could use a clean and recharge. Eotech is a Simmons scope seems to me that I saw reference to that online. Go to the dealer and ask. They will know. Let us know when you do.

I would contact Eotech for advice about their Canadian service options.

Does your EOtech have night vision capabilities? If so, try turning it on and push the night vision button. You can not see the red dot with the naked eye when the night vision is on.

EOTech is owned by L-3 Communications, a giant defense contractor.

Simmons makes a scope line called Aetec. The two companies are not affiliated.

Eotech

I had the same issues with my Eotech. There is an issue with them. Mine was purchased through Wolverine and was sent out for repair and has been shipped back to me and all seems to be fixed. This seems to be a known problem with this series of Eotech's.

Try contacting Wolverine to see if they could help you out with this issue.

Wolverine treated me very well on this issue and had my sight back on my gun within a month.

This is a well known problem with Eotechs (ESPECIALLY N Cell ones). I had a N Cell that did the exact same thing. Put new batteries in, go to range, turn off, back in safe, pull out of safe....batteries dead.

I had a similar problem with my N cell Eotech. New batteries, still wouldn't turn on. It was as simple as the spring loaded contacts for the batteries getting stuck in and not contacting the batteries.
