Eotech Refund

I just bought a brand new XPs2 and only mounted it once on a rifle for a day then took it off , mine was made in may 2014 i filled out the form but i got a really good deal on this new unit from a trader in the EE whats a Xps2 worth ?
Its brand new in the case with reg card manual everything even have the original cardboard cover on the plastic case .

Also how bad is this problem really im not planing any trips to where its + 120 degrees i just shoot on vancouver island ! i like the site.
Im just wondering how much of this problem is for extream combat situations that im never gona see anyway.
Has anyone up here had one fail even ?

There is another thread that explains the issues, but to answer your questions:

It affects all the sights, including the latest ones. There does not appear to be a fix for the issues at this time, and given that the issues are a result of the technology, unless there is a major advance in holographic laser technology, or L3/Eotech change to a different technology, there is unlikely to be a fix.

It is also a mistaken belief that it only occurs at temperature extremes, as shifts of 2 to 6 MOA due to thermal drift can occur within the given temperature range, and paralax error up to 12 MOA at 0C and 20 MOA at -15C can occur.

What does it mean for someone who only takes their gun to the range? You may have to re-zero it whenever you go to the range. If you hunt with the sight, it could result in a missed shot, or a wounded animal.

Whether you can live with that is up to you. You currently have the option to return the sight to the manufacturer for a full refund plus $15 shipping.

Some people are returning their sights, because they have experienced issues, some because they no longer work, some because they can get more for the sight than they paid for it, some because they want to try something different, and some because they believe that the company committed an inexcusable act by knowingly selling faulty sights to people who put their lives on the line for their country and fellow citizens.

Regards.

I really like my eotech, I'm thinking I will just keep it as I have never had a noticeable issue. Besides if everyone else trades there's in and eotech goes under maybe mine will be rare one day ;)

Prepare to be called an ignorant fool by the serious tactical operations specialists here.

So I asked for retail price + tax in my return/rma request. They approved it. They did not provide a rma number. I just got an email from Xavier Brown. Is it the same procedure? Are required to present a receipt?

Given that the company that manufactures the sights has publicly acknowledged the issues, you must know something they don't.

You must also be the most high speed tactical ninja secret squirrel in the world if you can call the guys at JTF2, Navy SEALS, FBI HRT, etc. "operators", because that is who this information came from. But then, I guess you really are, because you regularly do "cqb".

I guess you just can't hear what anyone else is saying over the sound of how awesome you are, but the more you post your personal opinion, the more ignorant you look.

I'm going to repeat what I said before.

I only shoot an AR at a range, with steady temp and my optic has not lost zero. I am keeping it and it's my call.

The only issue that I have is that you have to jump down the throat of anyone that dares disagree with you. People can and will keep their Eotech products.

Stop telling people what to do.
I don't care what it says in your sig line.

Anyone return a second-hand optic yet? I might consider this return for my 512, but I bought it on the EE with no receipt and no idea of original retail price.
