Eotech Refund

Alright, I'll play. I've submitted my claim for a second hand 512 bought here on the EE. If this works, it might be worth buying them up at $400 and getting refunds at $680.

I got a 552 made in Sept 2015 for 450, I sent in a claim for 820$ (wolverine has em for 720$ + Tax + 20 shipping). It's been 5 days since I've submitted the request, so we will see after the new years.

Wolverine has the 522 for $720......not the 552.

I talked to a buddy of mine who keeps the price tags on all his scopes, and he paid 499.99 CAD (plus tax) for his 551.A65, not sure how the price on a 551 compared to a 552......

Read the description and product #, they meant 552 I'm fairly certain.

Edit: there Is no such thing as a eotech 522. Googled it, and only 552 showed up.

......now that you say that.....I'm going to have to agree with you on there being no 522 ;)

One thing I noticed was that on the refund form there is no mention of a 551.A65, either in 'HWS' or in 'discontinued'. But I know it exists....

Just curious how quick EoTech is in sending the refund once they receive the product? I returned my 552, and I see by the tracking number the HWS made it's way to their refund centre in Michigan about a week ago. Has anybody gotten their refund cheque yet?

I have not received anything from L3 since I received an email saying send it back. They have had my sight for almost 4 weeks now. Tuesday I'll be sending them an email requesting an update. Standby

I have heard from a very reliable source that a couple of people have now received refunds. I'm not sure in what form, but the person reporting is it a well known industry insider in the US.

Regards.

This is what Larry Vickers has shared recently.
I got this yesterday from a Facebook fan and he gave me permission to post it as an Eotech refund update;

'Hey Larry I know you've been fielding a bunch of questions about what's going on with EoTech and the return process. I know I have and I just got off the phone with the customer service manager. If you'd like feel free to share my experience with whoever you see fit.

Alright Mike from EoTech (The customer service manager that everybody has been getting their RMA emails from) just called me. Super nice guy and extremely helpful. He ensured me that they are working around the clock to get everything processed. He said that it would be a full refund via some form of check. (Whether it's a personal check from EoTech, a cashier's check, or some other type of check he didn't know.) He said that the thermal shift that people are experiencing with the optics is only in extreme cases of temperature change. He said, obviously like any optic when the temperature changes you may experience a POI change. He said the extreme cases with large POI shifts were when they went from 100°+ to - temperatures. Now obviously if you've done any kind of long range shooting you know that temperature makes quite a bit of difference. A temperature swing of that magnitude is going to be a big difference... Possibly even 6 moa like some of the claims. He reassured me that the gift certificates and other rumors of some type of credit are in fact just rumors. He did not give me a time frame but did say that his inbox has near 20,000 emails. So I'm guessing it's going to be a while before those refunds start getting issued. (Probably a couple months) I hope this helps clear up any and all confusion about what is going on at EoTech. If you have any further questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer per my conversation with Mike.'

Why? EOTech already indicated a refund time of 60-90 days, and I would say longer based on the likely near millions of units coming back in. Clogging their inbox with impatient emails will only make things worse.

RMA approved for my 512 ... if I actually the money I may use it to buy another on the EE and send that one back too! My ... get rich slowly scheme, if you will.

Just got my RMA approved (sent on the Dec 31) for the $565 I requested. (I put the CAD in the 'other' info box). Maybe I will get lucky and they will send me $565+$15USD ;)

It seems they aren't issuing RMA numbers (anymore?), the email says to print out the email chain and send that in with a copy of the Return Authorization Request Form.

I just submitted my form... I paid a hefty chunk for mine at R. Nicholls before they went belly up, and I was getting a deal. My 555 was $599 before gst and pst at the time. See what they say about it...
