Just curious if anybody out there fixes or refurbished their units

My unit is a 07 manufacture and Eotech “doesn’t fix them as parts are no longer available”

Really turned me off from buying their future products. I mean I don’t baby my stuff, but I don’t abuse it either.

So question is, does anybody other than factory, repair those units?

I’m sure my problem is just a contacts issue that I can repair myself, but am curious for future purchases if anybody else supports them if they don’t.

Eotech changed hands and is under new ownership.

They did a buyback previously which have long expired.

All new eotechs have 10 year warranty.

If your batteries leaked you can purchase a replacement battery compartment.

Got the same reply when I inquired about my 552 which developed a dim reticle that’s only visible indoor or on very cloudy days. Not impressed.

Was just in the market for a used optic. These stories steered me right away from eotech. I’m not sponsored nor do I need to defend anything with my optics. I’ll take the next best thing with Canadian support. I like nice stuff, but am not into the hassle of warranty claims and parts support.

IM 99% sure it's just contacts, but it really set me back that there's 0 support past warranty service.

I can buy any number of optics, and they will look at them for the life of the optic, but a pricey EOTech? Nope.

Many cheaper options that will (seemingly) have better support past warranty.

Now to be fair, I aint asking anything for free. Im more than willing to pay for repairs if any are needed. But them simply saying "a customer is $#!T out of luck past warranty" is really poor customer service (to me).

And like said above, 99.99% of end users arent going to abuse them like the military/etc might.

I have an 03/2019 production XPS2-0grn that suddenly will not turn on... pretty confused.
I have tried replacing the batteries (multiple types), as well as have followed the troubleshoot guide in the optic's manual.

I got my Eotech last year through a trade and most of the time was sitting in a box/basement.
Last week I toke it out to mount on my new L2 and noticed only now the elevation screw turns only but not moves the center ring. It could happen that I received a lemon/broken with that trade, but anyway if I could possibly fix it. I am not afraid to take it a part only to figure out a $5 part is the issue?
The second thing to add from my recent stories....
Last year I had a broken Sig magnifier (less then one year old), I send it for repair and it was sitting in a Service over seven month. I had several threads here @ CGN about speaking out my frustration and maybe that helped a decision and Sig finally pay it out = returned my money for both the magnifier plus the red dot.

What I can say is now, "buying American" not necessarily will bring you piece in mind, my lifeline story is quiet opposite.
