Just wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of the Chinese copies of the EOtech reflex sight knockoffs you can get on eBay?

I'm thinking the roughly $90 plus shipping beats the $450 to $500 price for the brand name? What is the actual quality like though?

The EOCrap's they sell on eGhey are not holographic sights, just imitation red-dots (and poor ones at that). You simply don't go cheap on optics. If you spend $90 on a piece of excrement, you've lost $90 without gaining anything. I dunno, but economic sense tells me I'd rather spend $500 and have something rather than piss away $90 and end up with nothing. Make sense?

I have also wondered about how bad the cheap ones are. But I really agree with not going cheap on optics. We buy optics for accuracy, so when you buy a cheapo red dot sight and you find out at the range it isn't accurate... what good is your $1300+ AR?

Although to be honest $500 for the sight is killing me! Is there anything good for like $250??

They are just fine for rimfires or under 50 yard shooting, but they are deffinetly not competition for the real thing.

If you want one hold off,i'll have them in stock this week for $74.99

Or make your own! A little cellophane, some wire bent into a circular shape, and a red sharpie oughta do it.

How about saving a few bucks and just gettin the Bushnell?

I like mine...Sleep fine at night without it being armoured or having night vis capability.

If you get an Eotech it has some re-sale value. When you decide to move on to something else, you can sell the Eotech (let's say at $100 less than what you paid). So basically you paid $100 to rent a first quality optic and enjoyed your shooting. I guess you could sell the knockoff also, but if it craps out?...
I say go for the real thing.

The same applies to any of the Chinese made knock offs, companies that sell this knock off Airsoft crap for use on real firearms make baby Jebus cry,

Well if baby Jebus isn't the kind of guy that can afford a $4-5 dollar sight,at least he has an option other than irons.
Not everyone wants or needs to have the best money can buy.

If you don't like the price of the Eotech than get the Bushnell holosight. Same internals for about $200. Just isn't NV compatible and doesn't have the metal protective shroud.

ok whats so great about eotech???

how are they different from other red dot sights??

The crap you see for less than $450 are just red dots, and poor ones at that.

As for the EOTECH:

- Full, large, “see through” reticle images provide quicker eye recognition … easier and faster than a single dot
- Speed advantages over Red Dots are very apparent, especially when users or targets are moving
- A more “forgiving” reticle & sight picture
– Improper cheek weld, sloppy weapon presentations
– Awkward shooting position or engaging around physical barriers
- Standard pattern provides no compromise between speed
& precision accuracy

– 65 MOA ring for natural centering
– 1 MOA Dot -smallest in the industry

- Reticle does not “cover up” target area at 300m+ ranges
- Rectangular Heads Up Display - like looking through a windshield (a greater FOV)
- Tubeless design eliminating “blind spots” or constricting view
- Streamline design with no blockage from battery
compartments, mounting rings, lens protectors, ...
- True 2 eye open shooting is achieved
Maintain Use of Peripheral Vision – assists in engaging
multiple threats
- Optical Field of View is between 25-50% greater than Red
Dots
- Functional if window covered with mud, snow, sand,
water, etc. - AND - Zero maintained

I think the HoloSights go for $329 at both SIR and Wholesale Sports. Where can you get them for $200 - that would be nice.

Did you try a C-More. Half the cost and just as durable. All the IPSC shooters use them and those guys are tough on gear.
