I've been reading the forums and I'm confused.
I want to get an EoTech 557 AR.223 and a EoTech 4X.FTS.
All I have to do is wait until EoTech gets the permits to ship these across the border right?
I've been told that because the military uses these that EoTech or anyone at all cannot ship these across the border ever.
Well what if I went down to the states and picked them up?
I would be the end user right?
If anybody has a idea on how to acquire these please feel free to let me in on the secret. Thanx

The US State dept is the one that will authorize its release for export if they put an export restriction that shuts the door. You are not an authorized end user and as an individual you are ineligible to be an End User only Mil and LEA depts are end users. Sure you could go down to the US and buy one and ilegally export it but you would be breaking several US and Canadian laws [nothing to with CBSA think higher up the food chain]but if you plan on crossing the border back into Canada and if you are unlucky and get caught on an Exit check program prepare for the worst IE:seizure of your vehicle if caught on a land crossing ,incarceration ,must post substantial cash bail at bail hearing .Btw Bail option may not be permitted due to federal statutes dealing with illegal export of defense technology.

that is just fargin redunculous.... defense technology..... hahahaha
gawd damn these yanks are gettin outta control
pretty soon they will be banning first person shooter combat video games...... don't want the canukistanis having warfare simulation technology that might feature U.S. defense technology ....
this is where i see this going.... seriously.

Well Canada under the Liberals signed on to the ITAR Program which leads us to this quandry in regards to defense technologies. To give a brief overview that's easy to understand ITAR applies to all Products that have a NSN [NATO Stock Number] which is assigned used to products that are used by our Armed Forces all product leaving the US that have a NSN are items that come under ITAR Control .An interesting thing about ITAR controls it only applies to items that are NSN but also any Item that enhances the performance of a firearm . As for EoTech there are some models that can be exported and others that cannot the US is not closing the door to Canada entirely . On the FSP video simulators yes these Items also face State Dept Controls . Now who can buy products that have been declared restricted well only End user groups which applies to the following Military Agencies ,Law Enforcement Agencies are exempt from ITAR controls This does not apply to actual personnel employed by such Agencies. All agencies are required to sign an End User Aggreement that states that the Agency cannot dispose of Controled Items by commercail sale or any means of disposal that is not authorized the Country of origin's Government.

Wolverine Supplies currently has some models of Eotech in stock and good pricing. Are they the models you want? No. But they are as clsoe as you will come up here in Canada legally. I was able to get a 553 SOCOM as well as an A65.11 from a US "friend" a short time ago. The issue is getting them out of the States, not them being in Canada. Once they are here you are good to go. US DOD and State Dept restrict their export. If you were to declare them at point of entry into Canada, you may also have an issue with our Customs guys as well as you will not have "your papers in order". But once they are here, Police, etc will not give you grief.....even though they are labelled" for Police and Military use only"......? There are ways to get them in but I cannot and will not counsel anyone to commit a felony.
