Holosights that is!

I am wanting some opinions on this....

I am planning to purchase a Remington 870 12 guage shotgun...

Going for tactical....folding stock, 8 round magazine, parkerized...that type of thing.

So I really want to top it with an EOTech Holosight.

Looks sharp, fast target aquisition, looks cool, excellent reviews, did I mention the cool factor? And I'll be the first kid on the block with one!

Thinking of going with the model 553 and am just wondering if anyone here has any experience with these sights? Get me some reviews to make sure I am making the right model choice.

Thanx in advance guys!!

Heres a linky for those not in the know.....
And if you happen to know of a good Canadian dealer let me know!!

Hit the search button and AR15.com Optics forum for reviews, there are plenty of them. :)

For your use, 512 or other non NV would be the most effective for the end user and pennies.

The Eotech is my favorite non magnified site and it rocks for shotgun applications. I have mine on my 870 and it has been flawless.

Which model??

It is not available yet.
It only comes in dark earth (tan) for now.

Won't be getting it for a little while anyways....

Also...never know when ya might need the NV capabilities :D:D

Zombies attack in the dark too.....

They also sell Knoxx goodies!!

OOOOO Its like Christmas in April!!

Unless you have 100% intent to actually buy an NVG unit to stick on your shotgun (why would you anyway?), why spend the extra $40-50?

The tan colored EOTechs are restricted for shipment to Canadian public (this comes right from the manufacturer). Also the company was recently purchased by L3 Communications and all Canadian importers have to fill out an incredibily long and intrusive application that has to be approved by the US govt. because L3 is a high end US military supplier in other areas such as stealth technology. You may find the EOtch models sit a little high on a shotgun. There is a new model of Bushnell holosight coming that is specificly intended for shotguns as it sits much lower than the standars holosight (the Bushnell units are also made by EOTech.)

Yo! P of PD!

Can you get this?

Bushnell Model 53-0027

How much? :D

Haha! I recant! NVG is a good thing. P&D I've heard the new licences for L3 are a pain in the butt. Do you forsee the 553 in Canada's future?

I don't see us getting the 553 anytime soon. The US has obviously identified this model as military or police only because of course the sand color would make it invisble if used by insurgents and thus make the rest of the gun and the user invisible (sorry for the rant..). The new model Holosight is on order (was ordered last year but none arrived). Im at home so I can't remeber the exact price but I believe its somewhere around $400. Thanks Nine for posting the picture (I sure wish I was more capable on the internet to do this miself but I am lucky to just get on this site).

Speaking of L3 Communications, the staff was more than helpful with helping us get the documents in order and met with us (I reallly mean Dianne because do you think I am going to sit at a booth at the Shot Show for one and a half hours filling out forms when I'm surrounded by all of these guns).
