I am looking for epoxy to bed my stock. I have read the various posts about bedding.
However, I would like to know where to buy either of:
Marinetex
Devcon Plastic Steel
Acra

I know that they are available @ Brownells, but I would prefer buying in Canada. (Ontario or Alberta).

Russells Sports in Calgary lists AcraGlas (#240641) and AcraGlas Gel (#240640).

JB Weld is also good- very strong and no shrinkage. Industro-Weld is the same stuff in a 5oz package and a better deal. Available at the bigger auto parts places and industrial suppliers. (I got mine from Lordco here in B.C.)

I think Devcon Plastic Steel is only available in 1lb containers and costs around $55.00. Industrial suppliers should carry it.

Devcon products in Calgary are at Acklands if you want to buy from these people. Marine Tex can be found at boat supply shops-buy the grey for bedding . Try Russels for Acra-glass and gel. Use Kiwi neutral shoe polish @ safeway for release agent and measuring spoons.

+1 on the use of of JB Weld. I've used it for bedding for many years now with zero problems.

Thanks Josquin for the tip on Industroweld. :)

used JB weld to bed 2 rifles and they both turned out great. i was very nervous and there wa s agreat sigh of relief when it came apart afterwards;)

dont be worried its not that bad at all to do a good job.

I like G-2,but it's slow harding ,48hrs. Add fiber glass mini-fibers ,you get Accra-glas gel. Using G-2 and mini-fibers,you get both a higher strength aircraft grade epoxy and a fiberglass renforcement for recoil. You can get it at Lee Valley.
