A SigPro in .40 S&W

I'm pretty new to the firearms scene but the talk I've sometimes heard about how difficult this model is to fieldstrip is COMPLETELY wrong.

Very happy with the service I got from Epps on this one.

Range report to come as soon as my ATT arrives.

heh... That's was it! Not exactly a glamour shot.

It came with Sig night sights.

Will have to do some shooting with the two different grips to see which works best. I think I may end up wrapping the smaller grip with a bit if inner tube to give it just a bit more thickness. The big grip makes releasing the magazine a bit of a contortion and to me feels the same dimensionally as a Beretta 92 or M9.

they do...9mm, 40 s&w and 357 sig...
40 and 357 can be interchanged on the same frame by swapping barrels and mags i believe...

Mags do not need to be changed as the .357 Sig is based off a .40 S&W. As a matter of fact, you can use 9mm in the .40 mags too.

You can also put a 9mm barrel in a .40 but not a .40 on a 9mm.

You might want to check on the magazines. A 9mm round generally pops out of most .40 S&W magazines due to the fact that the feed lips are slightly wider to accommodate the larger round. Conversely, .40 S&W rounds will usually feed from a 9mm magazine, though they fit a little tight. Additionally, one is usually limited to 8 or 9 rounds rather than 10 due to compression on the magazine spring under the larger .40 round.

With regard to switching out barrel, physically a 9mm and .40 S&W barrel are identical in external dimensions (from most manufactures, including SIG factory barrels). However, switching calibres is not recommended by the manufacturers as there are subtle differences in frame constructions to handle various pressures with heavier calibre loads. At one time Beretta did market the 92/96 pistols as being entirley interchangeable (with barrel, springs, and magazine swapped out on one frame), however even they do not truly suggest such a conversion should be routinely attempted.

Congratulations RedDuc, I have a Pro in .40 as well and I swear by it. A real nice shooter. The only addition I made was a stainless guide rod. PM me and I'll pass on where I got one.

There is no problem switching a 9mm barrel in a 40 Sig, and no problem with 9mm rounds going in and out (no poping out)with 40 Sig mags
