So it seems the reloading gods, for some reason, try to stop me from reloading .303Brit,
At first I couldn't find dies, once I found some, second hand, the decapping/resizing rod had worn off tread and needed replacing (RCBS seems to be behind their product and will send replacement) and just yesterday found out that the Lee shell holder for hand held cap press (sorry, new to reloading, still learning the lingo) won't fit in/line up properly
Argh! What must I sucrifise to appease the wicked and finally get on with rolling my own .303!!!???

Yes, those ones, out of the whole set of 9(?) only 3 fit in properly, rest won't let the tray lid come up all the way preventing from feeding the caps into the mechanism

If there's a fit problem with the tools Lee is good about warranty issues. Send them an email with some pics.

If you are really new to loading watch lots of YouTube or find someone with experience to hang out with for a couple hours. I've been loading for nearly 30 years and still learn new tips and tricks from other shooters all the time.

that goes without saying (contacting Lee)

youtube was the first place I looked at, before getting my press, indeed lot of info from guys with now how, butthere was few that made me search for other sources. I like sniper101 channel, very well easy to fallow

I too enjoyed learning from Sniper 101 when I started reloading (2 1/2 years ago). The other one I liked was TheLocknLoadChannel with his .45ACP and .223rem series.

Best of luck to you with your equipement for your .303 loads.

thanks guys

the bullets are hard to find, i've noticed, but guy at Le Baron told me they are expecting some mid/end of November

Lee #5 is the shell holder for .303 Brit, found out the hard way every manufacturer has different number for their holders

If only a few of the shell holders fit in your hand priming tool I'd check the seating lips in the tool to see if there's some easily removed small burr or other that is preventing the holders seating fully into place. It may be as simple as a little scrape with a screw driver and you're fully in business.

Almost $.50- $1.00 per projectile! I'd cast my own, but then I'd have to gas check...with the added time involved and the cost of gas checks, I may as well buy $1.00 jacketed flat base.

Holy cow. I'd have to check the last box I bought last week but I'm averaging about 40-cents a bullet. Not cheap but with reused brass still cheaper than retail ammunition (and what you're paying :( ).

EDIT: I just checked and it was 100 Hornady .303 Brit in .312 for $39.99.

I looked, and more i think about it the more it seems to me that its the priming tool fault, rechecked all the holders yesterday, some just wont slide in all the way, feels like the slot is just narrows down deeper i try to push the holders, had one jammed up so bad i had to use a screwdriver to free it.
will be mailing the parts back to Lee to have them take a look at it. till they get back to me im without priming tool :/

Budget Shooter Supply has lots of .303 bullets. Good prices as well.

sorry, yes, i saw those too , now I remember, it was 174gr specifically i was looking for, but those seemed to me to be FMJ, i need hunting rounds.

another consern of my was the .312 diameter, dont know how much a difference on a rifle does difference of .001 make, since i read that if you dont ream your barrel to find out its proper diameter it is better to start off with smaller diameter bullets when reloading
