That's one of the reasons I sold my SG542. Replacement parts were relatively expensive and you had few options to source them. Mine was the least reliable semi-auto I've owned so far....It loved to FTE or stovepipe (gas setting didn't matter) and the factory magazine follower liked to occasionally bind up causing feed issues. Which I wouldn't care if the 542 mags weren't $105....and my upper and lower had a pretty pronounced rattle to it after about 200 rounds, and it absolutely destroyed brass. It's possible mine was a lemon, I really loved the idea of the Famae rifles, they just fell short on execution unfortunately.
I don’t suppose you put it on consignment with CSC, did you?
I bought a used one on discount and it wouldn’t run due to the gas block and regulator chock full of carbon.
Once cleaned it ran like a champ.
My biggest b!tch with them was the gouging price of mags, and parts. None of which was in control by the importer or retailers apparently.
Once I got over the price of mags, the rifle at $2k is worth it imho.
The sight block doing double duty as the gas block doesn’t do accuracy any favours, but that can be fixed with a low optic.
Whats the status of this rifle in relation to the Swiss Arms? Will this potentially suffer from re-classification as well?
