Ok, it's work time. Eric Grauffel and his coach are coming to Canada, and to the Guelph Rod and Gun Club to be specific. There will be 2 training courses offered.


Both courses are limited to 10 shooters.

The course dates are as follows:

Thursday and Friday, October 26 and 27, 2006 at the GRGC for the Basic course. Starts at 9:00 am sharp, and runs till approx 5:00 pm both days, rain or shine or hail or whatever. Dress appropriately. Bring at least 1400 rounds minimum and LOTS of magazines. Come with a pistol and full gear that works. You are paying to learn. Use that time learning, not clearing jams.

Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the GRGC for the advanced course. You can take this one after you take the basic course. Starts at 9:00 am sharp, and runs till approx 5:00 pm, rain or shine or hail or whatever. Dress appropriately.
Bring at least 800 rounds.

Hmm. It's interesting that he rides his support hand so high with the index finger on the trigger guard. I haven't seen that done much and was taught not to do it when I started. Whatever works, I guess!
 
I took his course, I think it was last summer (or maybe two summers ago)? Personally, I picked up a lot more useful stuff from Rob E's 1 day course than Eric's two day. Sure, it was cool to hang out with him, and watch him, and stuff, he's a really nice, down to Earth guy, and I don't regret the $500 or so I spent last time, but I took away very little from that course which I find useful on any kind of regular basis in the type of matches we shoot around these parts.
 
I took 2 of Rob's courses and i did learn allot. Mostly about take off, transitions, and shooting on the move.

With Eric I want to learn different aspects of IPSC. From what i have been told by local shooters it's a great learning experience. I wanna give it a try.

Price is around $600 for the two day course. It depends on the # of students. Allot cheaper than flying south or France.

Allot of shooters do this, just takes ALLOT practice. Angus does this also. You have to make sure you dont push or pull, just steer. I still prefer the traditional two handed lock grip.

Thought you'd like that Cliff. So are we going to be blessed with your presence in August? If so I can't wait to see what bright colours you bring out this year!
 
I was in the class with M-Bomber in Florida this February.

I felt the price for 2 days of both Eric AND his Dad, Gi Gi was well worth it.

I seriously concur with M-Bombers' comments on the stretching. Some squats with weights a couple weeks before too. You really work your thighs. On day two we were mainlining ibuprofen and naproxen.

I took a lot of notes; which I had the other 3 Canadians in the class review for content, but think that I probably still missed 30-40% of the stuff to learn.

Eric's a nice guy, good to spend the time with. Gi Gi is the bonus. His coaching, without a doubt - made Eric the 3 time champion. He is the taskmaster that keeps you going when you're ready to give up - and that's the time that you make that extra leap forward.

Bring lots of mags ;) AND extra ammo.

It's not every day we get the opportunity to learn from the best shooter in the world. Eric is a three time world champion because he trained to win, he didn't shoot to win. Here's your chance to get the same training.

Hi,
here's the latest info on the cost of the 2 days course:
The course fees are as folows: $650 for the basic 2 day course. That gives you 2 trainers and all the attention you can handle. The advanced course will be on a sliding scale. The more people sign up, the less it will be. If they'll get 10 shooters (doubt it) it will be $350 per person. If they only
get 5, it will be $600, but you will learn a whole lot more with only 5 shooters and 2 trainers. They are hoping for 6 or 7 to sign up. So.... get off your butt and learn how to do things properly!!!! They have to send Eric Grauffel his money by Wed next week. They need $500 deposit from everyone taking the Basic course, and $350 from shooters taking the advanced course, or $850 if you are doing both.
