Erma-werk m1 22lr

Mine prefers plated bullets. I have used Rem Golden Bullet without problem.

After picking up a spare mag, I can tell you they are very picky about the mags. I still have to try and do some work on that mag to see if I can make it function.

Accuracy was surprising with iron sights at 50yds and my old eyes.

I picked one up last winter. It appeared to be unfired but had a couple bumps and bruises. I have found it to be more than accurate for what I use it for (gophers and such). It is picky on ammo especially when dirty. I really like the gun and find it very handy, lately it’s been the .22 I grab when I walk the dog around my fields.

Fiddling with one right now. Trigger mechanism isn't functional; sometimes won't reset, won't release the hammer.

I picked up one of these ERMA-WERKE E M1 22 ( ex-military trainer) from weimajack last year .
Finally took it out today to try and put some rounds through it .
Well this thing will not cycle one round without jamming , stove piping or failing to pick next up round .
I did find a good web site on these http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_EM8.html
I did a detailed strip & clean as recommended on that site .

I noticed that all the parts had very little signs of wear or use and was not dirty at all.
I suspect it is a magazine problem . Has anyone had any luck tweaking their mag to get it to function ?
Also has anyone had any luck with the new aftermarket 15 rnd mags ?
Only tried Win Super X 22 38 gr copper plated HP 1280 FPS so far .
Now that I know it's clean inside & out I'll try it again with some different brands of ammo

Where did you source your mag spring out of curiosity? I just bought one of these guns today despite seeing it not function correctly. It's such a sweet looking gun. I had to have it! Thanks in advance.
