I know what my answer would be if my wife thought she was going with a guy and girl somewhere........
.
Why not just ask her how she would like to be treated.
Go have fun hunting?
Seriously, are you concerned that you may be sleeping in a tent with a woman?
Are you concerned you won't be able to control yourself, and you will have ### wit her? What's the real issue here?![]()
Seal hunter,
An interesting point. If I was going on a business trip with a female workmate, we would have seperate rooms, or I would not be attending. Unlike the liberals, I not only want to have the appearence of no wrong doing I want no wrong doing.
I would do this for my wife of some 23 years. It is not a trust issue only an appearance issue. What if some one called my wife 2,000 miles away and just to stir it up, told her they had seen me go into my room with some other woman? Even though I know nothing would happen why would I want to allow that sort of question to even enter my wifes mind. I think it has more to do with respect for ones mate and her feelings. I would do nothing to hurt my wife and if my boss didn't understand that I have the wrong boss!
Huntinstuff, you are correct. No mater how "liberal" the Sweeds are it is your hunt, they are your guest both in your life and in your country. You make the rules, you simply tell them whats going to happen, don't explain just inform.
OK I'll get off my moral soap box now.
Scott
It's the morality of it. I don't believe a fella should sleep with a woman unless he's married to her. "Sleep" or otherwise. It's a matter of respect. I know it ain't the norm nowadays, but that's me. And I ain't a preacher or religious nut or something. There are just some things I won't do.
Gonna get lots of advice on this one, some might even be useful. Here goes:
I will be guiding two hunters from Sweden. One male, one female. Moose hunt at my camp near Wood Buffalo National Park. 9 days.
They know each other but aren't a couple. They want to hunt together.
Now normally, I set up a 14x16ft wall tent and I bunk with the boys I guide. This is a little different tho. I've been guiding a long time and this is a first.
I've been told that the Swedish ladies are quite liberal. I am not.
Am I making too much of the sleeping arrangements or should I just pack a pup tent for myself and just act like that is normal?
Then again, I scrub up in the lake a few times during the hunt. Should a guy make her some sort of an enclosure or something? Am I too old fashioned? I will treat her like any other hunter except when it comes to the lady type stuff. I'm a door opener/stand up when a lady does type guy.....and the only woman I sleep with is my wife.
Ok, the popcorn is ready, I have a nice cold drink here. Let's have it.

Am I making too much of the sleeping arrangements or should I just pack a pup tent for myself and just act like that is normal?
How about this? I take it your are a "stand-up" individual who would never let himself be corrupted by the shortcomings, real or perceived, of other people who may have a different moral and social view on life, hence the thread and your concern not only for the ladies comfort but also the appearance of the situation. My opinion: discuss with your wife the situation and ask what she would prefer, (I'm sure she'll trust your judgement.), bring the supplies to put a "curtain" up in the wall tent, and relax man! Canadians are way too uptight about this kind of thing, just 'cause you will probably be in various states of un-dress at some point means nothing unless you're some paranoid WASP, if the idea of a sweaty dirty woman farting in the wall tent after bean and sausage stew puts you off then don't do the hunt.
PS: I mean no offence to white anglo-saxon protestants
I am baffled by this...You believe it is immoral for you to be in the same accomadation with a woman?
A couple of years ago, I took a young woman on her first bear hunt. We shared my camper, in seperate bunks. When I told my gal I was going, she just giggled...Muttered something about condoms...She trusts me, i trust her.
To each his own, but since it clearly bothers you, you should just stay in a seperate tent.![]()
