I’ve noticed my euromounts from 10-15 years ago are starting to yellow. I’m wondering if anyone has spray painted their skulls white, and how they turned out? Please Post pics if you can.

I want to keep the natural bone look, but it would be nice to have a permanent solution rather than having to whiten every few years. One other bonus would be the teeth would be white.

Buy an aerosol "Clear Matte," and spray them... I used to use Krylon, but that product is no longer available... but there are other similar products.

Paint them with primer used for water stained drywall. Garbage bag over each antler and rattle can, easy peasy.

A picture would help, but typically yellowing means it wasn’t degreased properly. You need to degrease, and re whiten with peroxide.

Have you wiped any Lindseed oil on antlers? Or any thing of the sort? Does it seem more around the sinus area? Could be oils or fats that have finally worked out. they can do that. If so try a soak in acetone. If it’s not too yellow from oils dawn dish soap and warm water.

They yellow because there is a bit of fat left, That’s bad news as the bone disintegrates too.
If they haven’t been coated in anything I’d look at degreasing them- a few days soaking in acetone or white gas.

Then let them dry a couple days put them in got water to get everything nice and warm and use the peroxide cream or taxidermy grade (30%) peroxide mixed with calcium carbonate. Mix the 2 or use the cream spread all over every piece of bone and wrap in plastic wrap at least overnight.
Unwrap it and tip if it’s looking good rinse it all off. Dry for a couple days then spray with clear Matt or satin krylon.

If you can’t get them white you can cheat with killz paint, it should stop the bleed through although it might be a tad too white.
