I have a friend in Germany who hunts these. They are about the biggest game animal in that part of Europe. About the same as our elk. Fantastic and well timed pic!

He told me that Germany just opened night hunts for wild boars. Apparently there is some "mad boar" disease happening over there.

They're about 1/2-3/4 the size of an elk.And they've hunted wild boar at night in Germany for decades, possibly centuries.

I shot Reds in the UK for years before moving to Canada, I have a Royal stag hanging right here in the shop. They are awesome animals,
but they are pretty much just a smaller version of an Elk.
