European style scope rails

Can anyone tell me what this means exactly? Are the dimentions different than the weaver style scope mounting rails, or any other that is commonly used on the North American Continant?

Yes they are different than anything in north america.

Europeans did not know about Weaver until relatively recently.

Their mounts are all over the place in sizes. They may be standardized to some extent (like BRNO's 11mm, 16? and 19mm sizes for their dovetails) or they may be custom. The rails that I know are generlaly standard but require that one size of base/mount.

Check out newenglandcustomgun.com; they stock the EAW scope mounts. But I'd be sitting down before looking at the prices...
