ever find a deal you couldnt pass up?

Buddy phoned me up when registration was about to be introduced and said "I have this 270 Husquvarna my father gave me and no PAL. Do you want it?" I reluctantly agreed and he gave it to me.

Another buddy decided he was sick and tired of seeing me hunt with "that pea-shooter" 243 I have and gave me a Centurion 300 Win mag. I thought he was nuts and paid him for it.

Then he retaliated and gave me a US M17 30-06 he got in a trade and didn't want.

My daughter inherited a Model 94 30-30 from a family friend, her best friend's grandpa, then moved to Europe and kind of loaned it to me permanently.

OK ...... How bout this?

I once traded a Rem 788 in 22/250 for enough airmiles to get to Whitehorse and back. Another time I traded another 788 in 22/250 for a Belgium Browning Superposed Superlight in 12ga w/26" bbl choked IC/M. I sold the Browning in the States for enough cash to almost pay for an ATV.

Howz them apples?

A BSA-sporterized P-14 including a Timney trigger. All I did was refinish the stock and put a better shim under the rear Weaver base. $150.00. Shoots about 1.25" @ 100m with Remington 180gr RN over RL15. It's now at Ellwood Epps being rechambered to .303 Epps.

I think my best buy is one I'm working on now. It's a custom built 7mm with a Timney trigger, nice wood and I believe a hart barrel. I traded a NEF .223 for it.

When a guy has a custom gun he builds w/ a Hart barrel plus aftermarket goodies and trades it for a NEF .223 he has either got to be drunk or stoned because he could'nt be that stupid.

Deal one - A buddy of mine was leaving for Scotland (meeting a woman) and just wanted to dump some stuff for airfare money - a Beretta 950B in .22 short with 32 X 50 rd. boxes of ammo, a Baby Browning in .25 ACP, a Mark IV Webley in .38 S & W and a brand new Browning model 1910 in .32 ACP, all for $200.00. I still have all four guns.

Deal two - back in 1996 from Marstar - buy one Mosin Nagant M44 for $49.00 and get another for one cent! I bought four. They were pretty well all butt-ugly, dinged up surplus guns but they all headspaced fine and shot as well as my other M44's (I had a thing for M44's at the time). Over the years I have traded two, given away one and kept the ugliest but the best shooter.

I got what I consider a good deal a few months ago. Here's a list of what I got.

Remington model 78 Bolt action 270 with scope
Cooey 22 LR Semi Auto 64B
Squires Brigham 22 Semi Auto Model 20P
Mosberg 22 Semi Auto with scope
S&W 357 Mag Stainless Model 66-2
S&W 38 Special Model 10-5 PPC gun with holster & Speadloaders
Ruger Mark 1 22LR
Rohm 22 Short revolver (12.6)
2 Soft Gun Cases and 1 Hard 4 Handgun Guncase.
Dillon Square deal B reloading press, Dillon scale, large tumbler & Kinetic puller...
4 Lbs of powder, 5 Gallon bucket of 38 Brass, 150 loaded rounds, 1000 bulets
80 man sized handgun paper targets
Custom build oak gun cabinet, holds 8 guns but it will soon be modified to hold more.

All this for the sum of $1000. It didn't take me long to say I will take it.:D

Here's one of my 'best' deals...

A number of years ago, a friend inherited these but was going to turn them in for destruction... but offered them to me for free, as I had a PAL. Also came with a case of .303 ammo. No good for the second one though as it's a DCRA conversion to 7.62 Nato... :p
