ever have a hunting rifle that was just luckier?

Send that poor thing out here, we'll get it broke in.:)

Don't tempt me.
This thing is a tack driver as well.
Soon as I left Brno home on a full time basis, my hide fetching
capacity changed, for the better.
Dad bought me this rifle when I was eleven or twelve.
That double set trigger sure makes it sweet to shoot.

This year I wish to pop the cherrie on the old 1894 25-35 that landed here this year.
I'm sure there is no white wedding dress for this old girl though. :p

My Model 700 in 300 RSAUM

I bought this gun in 2004, picked up from the post office after work one day, around 4:30 pm. Took it over to my buddies house, and mounted a borrowed scope on it. Hit the gravel pit around 6pm, and sighted it in. At about 7 pm I went into my stand, and waited for about 25 minutes (first day of my bear hunt) and there was a bear. Shot it at about threeyards, sitting on the ground hiding behind a stump. Ever since then I have been able to consitently put animals on the ground with this gun :).

Don't susbscribe to "luck" in any form, so no "lucky" rifle in my safes.
Whatever I am packing at the time is the rifle for the job.
However, I have been told that I do not have a horseshoe up my a**, but rather the whole horse! lol.
Don't really worry about what is in my hands as long as I feel confident it will get the job done. Regards, Eagleye.

For some reason I replaced my old Marlin 30-30 with a Ruger bolt .270 even though most shots where I hunt are less than 100 yds. The Old marlin always did the job, would'nt do much at a range but in the woods, things just plain died when it was pointed in their general direction.

I worked on my first deer, hunting alone and not knowing what to do after pulling the trigger. It got the nice 6 point that walked up on my father and I when we were discussing how there were no deer in the area!

It worked in the swamp when I had a buck only tag and all I could see was one deer on top of another (trees blocked the heads) I figure it was the best way to go out that any creature could hope for!

Fortunately, I picked up a short barreled mossberg 12ga 2 years ago that seems to have the same habit of making things die from just being in the same area.:p

Yes, not only do I have a lucky rifle, but long ago I considered seven, as the lucky number of cartridges to take with me.
To this day, if I was going for a days hunt, I would have with me seven shells. I know, it's more than needed, but I would put five in the bolt action rifle and one in each of my front pants pockets. That way, there was no loose shells to rattle in my pocket.

A hunting buddy of mine showed me something similar - where he keeps one cartridge in every pocket of whatever he is wearing; pants and coat. :)
