I leave it sitting right next to the powder measure...it's a good visual reminder while you are working, and it eliminates confusion when you are cleaning up.
Many, many years ago, I dumped about ½ cup of H870 into a part can of H5010.
Fortunately, the difference in kernel size allowed me to use a sieve to separate them.
Never since have I had two different powders up near my equipment.
I finish with one, return it to storage before I start with the next type.
Lesson learned.
Eagleye.
Ever reach up and grab the wrong powder off the shelf?
Weird post/question. Ever had a dream where you thought you were cool and then awoke and found yourself sitting on the nerdy side of the room? I haven't, sleep tight.
Paranoid me, I segregate, or put more correctly organize, all my reloading stuff by cartridge. Each cartridge has it's own shoebox with all the goodies required, like a 1 lb can of powder, dies, shell holder, etc. Whenever I want to reload 308, it just pull the 308 box, and everything is in there. Zero cross-contamination.
