Have a look at this relief cut in the stock of this NEW m-91. I initially though it was bubbas work but the finish matches the rest of the rifle perfectly. Did the Fins try various bolt handle profiles or is this the work of bubba? The bolt is a replacement cause the rifle came without one.
It could have been a stock made for a Finn target rifle, that cutout looks similar to the post-war target rifles. It does NOT match a known sniper arrangement as far as I am aware.
The Finns used everything. If it worked it got used. It is not out of the realm of possibility this came from a Finnish Armoury this way. Ever see some of the crazy wartime rifles kicking around? All manner of parts used.
I was thinking it might be a post war target rifle but I have never seen a Fin bolt handle swept back. The 28/76 rifles all look like they have the handle pointing straight down.
