Visiting beautiful Pt. Townsend on the Olympic peninsula. Been coming here forever and made friends with a gun guy on the golf course. We catch up every time I come down. He came to get me for dinner and brought over his latest toy for me to check out.

It’s a prohib so we can’t have it. It shoots high vel .22 ammo. The cool thing is this is the first DA/SA .22 semi auto handgun I've ever seen. I can’t even think, off hand, of another DA/SA .22. Handles like a baby PPQ except the trigger. Even has the Euro mag release. Quick to acquire sight picture.

Apparently S&W imported Walther for a while into the USA, hence the S&W stamp on the slide.
Enjoy!

These actually are available in Canada. I have one. We can only get the version with a longer barrel and stabilizer, looks like this :

I got mine from the EE, traded a 9mm fmk9c1 for it. Its a fun little gun.

So, you've not seen much. There are some other DA/SA .22 semis in Canada. For example, I have a Grand Power DA/SA .22 semi auto that IMHO beats the Walther P22 hands down (see pic).

.22 is not my favorite caliber so not too interested in them. I don’t even own a .22 handgun. The common ones I’ve seen are the Ruger, Buckmark and ones patterned after 1911, Glocks and M&P. Forgot about the Grand Power. I’ve actually shot it but I think I started in SA. Either that or it had a nice DA trigger!

Jeez they been in Canada for over 15 years. Friend had one. They even prohibited the G22 which was the rifle version of the P22.

There are tones of DA/SA 22LR in Canada. Beretta 87, 71. The GP K22, Beretta/Chippa has M9 in 22. Sig Mosquito. ETC ETC

You'd better start being interested in the semi auto .22 handguns because that might be the only class left to us after 2019 election if at all! And yes, the GP K22S has a very nice DA trigger and even better in SA. :)

Huh! Thanks Suther!

I’ve not met one in Canada before so didn’t know. The Canadian and US version sure looks different!

Both versions are available down south. The one we can get is supposed to be more accurate due to the longer barrel and weight at the front, but I'm not sure I buy it...
