shot one in the ass once with a 223..........had to finish him off with a shovel, I'd likely do it again though, just so I can post the story and pictures on the internet..............
I'd like to see you kicked in u'r azz hole with a cowboy boot, or much better yet, I'd like to kick you in your azz myself with my round toe'd boot, and finish you off with a shovel or a frozen turd down your miserable throat! What kind of idiot are you? One sick phuk U R! Grow up, grab a brain, get real, suck chite! Jack-off!!!!! Gezzz! The big guy upstairs will give you what ya got coming, don't be surprised, that's a guarantee, U can count on it!
Well Yoda went trolling and I think he just got a bite![]()
gotta learn to site in troller'sNo one said it would.
Too bad you took all the replies out of context.
yeah, pardon me while I pull my panties back up, to my neck! for C sakes, I didn't see it coming! The booze, I guess! Oh well, live and learn! Lets forget about it please, and carry on! Please, once again, I ask!
yodave, I took your hook line and sinker and swam deep down under like a catfish, sorry man! Please forgive me. I am a close man of the white collar, though my language may be a little stronger than it should be!
If you don't hunt and or never have hunted I don't see how half the people posting can even post in a thread like this, passing info on that you acquired on the internet is never going to inform anyone, but likely misinform then instead........
Well you can vaguely refer to these hundreds of tests all you want. I believe 100% what I've seen with my own eyes. 69 grain SMKs from a 1:7 twist barrel is by order of magnitude more devastating than a 55 grain bullet from a 1:12 twist barrel. I know this because I've used both on everything from Deer to Groundhogs. Maybe you just need to see it for yourself to believe it.
There's also lots of people who have been told not to hunt with Bergers of any description and yet there's web sites dedicated to the guys who do with great success.
Check out the damage at the bottom of this article. This is the kind of damage I've seen with the 69 Gr SMK and a 1:7 twist. I can say no more.

You cant believe everything you read, sometimes you just have to think for yourself and decide what you think is true.
I think the fast rate of rotation causes a violent action as the bullet tumbles. It's as simple as that.
This is because everyone loves to burn up the internet with talk about their hero, apex-predator-super-sniper-success stories, but people rarely volunteer to talk about all the animals they've lost or horror-story-super-suffer sagas.
I've seen many of the latter with the .223, and given the choice I now would always choose at least .243 when hunting deer with center fire rifle.Cheers,
Brobee
It is head or neck only shots for me the 223 for me, seen the body not work out so well for a couple of people so I personally won't take that chance.
depends on what you would call the vitals, all deer were recovered but far from a quick humane end. I have only been hunting for 30 or so years so it is up to anyone who reads my posts if they decide to value my opinions or not, everyone is their own person and can make up their own mind as to what caliber suits them for the job at hand provided it is legal in their province. There is a lot of body area....Bet it wasn't the vitals!
