Ever Wanted to Own a HEMI?

I emailed about 1 also. Any idea about Canadian pricing? (I didn't see any mention so maybe I'm blind!!!)

Interesting where this thread went. The first engines with hemispherical combustion chambers were built closer to 1911 than one would realize. They were aircraft engines

As for the, "nothing special," in reference to the Chrysler hemi, just check the rule changes and handicaps the racing sanctioning bodies put on hemi powered cars back in the day. Then tell me they weren't special.

I could never afford one, so it was always an unattainable dream for me. The 440 always found a home between the fender wells of the Mopars I owned.

Incidentally, some Porche and BMW engines sport heads with a hemispherical combustion chamber.

They were experimental in the P47 Thunderbolt and Patton Tank. The earliest production use was the 331ci Hemi called FirePower in air raid sirens.

There were lots of engines that used hemispherical combustion chambers before Chrysler Hemi V-8s, starting in the early 1900s. Some other notable examples include:

-Triumph parallel twin motorcycle engines
-Two-valve Miller/Offenhauser race car engines
-Ardun heads for converting the Ford Flathead to OHV

strongly disagree , my 2013 ram drives real good. Iv'e driven and test drove lots of trucks and smoothest ride goes to the ram. On the other hand my 1995 ford 3/4 ton diesel drives like a fully loaded lumber wagon

You could overload your ford until the tires were flat and it would still get you out of the bush. Put the same load on the dodge and the whole truck will be flat.

I'll buy the gun, but not buying another Dodge after all the issues of my wife's Dodge Caliber and getting screwed by Dodge with all the mechanical issues.

I miss my Sport truck though, this Dodge kicked A.S! Not a Hemi, but Magnum 5.9.

One of my Uncles had one of those 5.9 Magnum sport trucks and love it. Was a nice truck.
