Every now and then I do something silly...

Not sure if today will be one of those days or not. Seeing how I have been developing a severe allergy to deer hair and dander, I have been slowly depleating my hunting arms. I've been tossing around the idea of getting a Beretta 92 for a bit, but wasn't that serious about. Untill this morning that is. I stopped by my local shop and they had a 92fs sitting there calling my name. By a little before noon we were working on a trade from my win mod 70towards the Beretta and cam to agreeable terms. Called the CFO by 4, transfer approved and my newest pistol is home for the long weekend! I usually do more research but this really was a knee jerk decision, hopefully one I won't regret:)

Where's the silly part? Were you wearing stilts at the time? Juggling chainsaws? Peakinsay igpay atinlay?

Everything you described seems perfectly logical to me.

I like Beretta pistols... reliable, accurate, a good range horse!
Actually I'm looking for a Beretta too, need to find a two-tone Beretta 92 Elite II in 9mm

Yes Beretta is a great gun. I love mine. Installed Novak sites on it and it shoots even better now :)

Glad to hear there has been some good luck with them. I usually research things quite exensively before buying but like I said this was an impulse.
First impression, it fit in my hands a nicer than my colt comander and seems more comfortable than my XD9. I was surprised to see a few plastic componants, like guide rod and mag release, but I guess they must work. Only dry fired it a couple times but the trigger is different than what I have bee used to, then again this is my first DA/SA pistol. The DA seems like a very long but smooth pull and in SA it seems to break nice and crisp.
I guess the only thing to do now is get out to the range and blast up some paper!

I've shot and held a lot of handguns lately, but there's nothing ###ier than the exposed barrel of a Beretta 90-series. One of the prettiest handguns around IMO, especially compared to the polymer guns out there.

I like them so much I bought an airsoft 90-two to see if I can get used to the grip with my big paws, doesn't seem to be a stretch.

Beretta's rock. My M9 is one of the few pistols I've owned that has never FTF'd or FTE'd. Put Trijicon night sights on it, a skeletonized hammer, Crimson Trace grips and a SGS style comp. Even found a cool looking 32/10 round mag for it. It's one of my "never-sell" pistols.

How do you change the front sight? Isnt it part of the slide and non detachable?

I had a gunsmith in Edmonton do it. Someone at P&D recommended him. The new front site slips over the old one and then you need to drill two holes for the roll pins that keep it on. Cost me $100. Way better than the factory sight.

That's quit interesting. I was wondering how or what if anything guys were doing with the sights on these things. Something to look into perhaps.

KO, assuming you held it and have the big to extra big hands that they seem to fit best then you did fine. When held by hands which fit the gun it is a great shooting tool. Got one of my own and really enjoy it.

Get your initial giggles out of the way and then scare up a few extra mags and join the fun with that 92 in doing some local speed steel, IPSC or IDPA shooting. It's the most fun we're allowed to have in Canada with handguns. If you don't at least try these things out you're missing out on half the fun.

Haha, yeah it fits my hands well, it feels better that the other pistols I have. I was hoping to get to the range this weekend, but with family and work, probably not gonna happen.
I would love to try some shooting sports with handguns and my AR. I still have a lot to learn about these types of shooting though. Also I need to look into which ranges with in a reasonable distance from me do some of these types of events and would put up with a newb to the sport. Lol. My range isn't real active in the organized shoots of this kind.
