I just put together my FS556 from FABSPORTS and love the look of it. I was thinking instead of hijacking other members FS556 threads mostly based on tech questions, I thought I would set one up for me and everyone else to post theirs pics and thoughts in. I bought mine from a member here but I thought I wouldn't hurt promoting a Canadian company a bit as well, especially with something this cool.

There are a few changes I need to make when I get around to it, some of the stock 10/22 stuff must go and a few add ons are needed. The 20" bull barrel is cool but way to heavy, I think I will get a front grip to deal with the extra weight for now. I am waiting for the front end cap in the mail, as I have seen that it looks much better with it installed.

I'm planning on putting one of these together next year. I'll go with a VQ carbon fiber barrel, and aluminum handguards on which I'll mount a Leupold scout scope. It should be an all-in-one rimfire. Light, accurate, reliable & dead ###y. It will go well with my beloved Krinker.

How much is one of those barrels ? I think i might upgrade from this one i have now.
 
I was looking at a few VQ barrels as my friend has one but not CF, they were around $300-400 from what I saw. I want mine lighter and shorter by allot but not for that price, plus mine barrel is kinda cool as is. I did manage at the gun show last on Sunday to just miss a sale on a nice shorty barrel with a brake for $80 danm.

This one pictured here is $303 usd. I've seen others advertised at $220 usd. Although I've never owned a VQ barrel, I've heard they're worth every penny. Moreover, they're only about one third the weight of a traditional .920 barrel. Downside is finding one on our side of the border... Milarm in Edmonton can get them, but you'll need patience.

Does anyone have a pic with a 7" handguard and 12.5" barrel?
I bought a stock but need handguard and Fab only has 7" handguards left. I want to see what it would look before i purchase.

Now that I actually brake down the price it isn't the cheapest gun, but it's a fun piece of Canadian manufacturing. All the AR parts I have are from Fabsports, you can get prices online. I would suggest going with a not so cheap pistol grip, this A5 one is cheap plastic and not that comfortable.
