Ex-Police Glocks?

It is illegal for any public agency in Canada to sell it's "retired" firearms to civillians, or to the civillian market here or anywhere else in the world. All ex-public agency guns must be destroyed. Jackspade, please tell me how you bought an RCMP surplus version, not only of a gun that the RCMP has never issued, but in a calibre they have never issued..

Just out of interest, what federal legislation makes such sales unlawful? In BC, the Municipal Act permits any property, lawfully owned by a municipality or department within a municipality, to be sold or otherwise disposed of. Firearms are not excluded from this.

That having been said, local municipal police departments routinely destroy their surplus firearms (even brand new ones) due to concern over the "public view" of such sales.

Well, you might want to ask that question to Seth at Lanz Shooting supplies as he is the one who says so.

Mind you, I have my doubts about it as well, but who knows. He did say, these units were issued for undercover agents.. But I truly suspect these were American police issue.

To follow up on my Glock 27.... It turns out it is an ex Police refurbished Gen 2....

Shoots like a dream and looks good, but Brand New, unissued RCMP undercover units, my sweet A$$... It came with a small glock box and one magazine.. And for the price I paid, $859, I was really expecting a brand new unissued gun..

Live and learn. My last purchase at Lanz's...
