I have been thinking of getting another pistol for a little while and I have the Glock 21 on my mind. The only problem is that I hear they are really big in the hand. I currently own a Glock 17 and find that it fits me perfectly. I have medium size hands. Do you think that the G21 will be too big?

The G37, G38, and G39 have .45ACP ballistics with a G17 size frame.
The G37, G38, G39 use the .45GAP

Too bad we can't get or CCW a G39 in Canada ....

SF Stands for short frame not slim frame as many think...

I have average size hands and shoot a G20 10mm which is exactly the same grip frame as a G21...

Shooting it one handed is a bit of a streach but 2 handed is absolutely no problem...

I don't have an intrerest in a G21 in any form but if a G20SF came out I would buy it in a heart beat...

Well I do not wish to pay full price for a Glock at Questar when I can get one for a discount from Police Ordnance. I would like to have the SF model...but I am not sure if PO is carrying them yet. Is the G21 much bigger then the G17? Has anyone with smaller hands had any troubles shooting one?

For reference, I wear size 10 gloves and I find the grip a tad large; not uncomfortably large but the difference would be very noticeable if you were to compare it with a G17, 1911 or Sig 220. The G21's grip size makes it hard for me to recommend it to anyone unless they've handled one first. With that said, my G21 is accurate and reliable.

I have small hands, about 7, 71/2 glove and shoot the 17, 22 frames all the time.
I had a chance not to long ago to take the 21SF for a test drive.
It is a little bit bigger. . . . , but BARELY.
After the 3 mags I put thru it, I honestly couldn't tell. Maybe if I had a 17 there to compare it too. .
It's much closer to the 17/22 frames than it is the 21. You won't have any troubles handling it. Glock should have made this frame in the first place IMO.

I'd say I have average sized hands . I had a G21 for about 3 years and now have a G22 ( same size frame as G17 ) . While I had the G21 , a friend had a G17 and we did a side by side comparison . The G21 frame is barely wider than the G17 but it is a fair bit longer . The slide is much larger ( wider ) on the G21 .
End of the day we found the the G17/22 a better fit and the G21 on the large side . But most people who shot them that day felt the G21 had less felt recoil .
Personally , to me , it would depend on what your doing with the gun . If wilderness carry is your use the G21 or G20 would be great . If the shooting sports are your game the G17 or G22 would probably be a better fit .
Just my 2 cents
