Excel .17 HMR auto

I would like to know if anyone has had expierence with this rifle or heard anything positive or negative about it the excel .17 hmr semi auto rifle.
I"m in the market for a .17 HMR and I haven't made up my mind on the manufacurer totally yet, but I am leaning towards the savage because I have only heard and seen good things about the accuracy of it with the hornady V max rounds.
Although the Savage is accurate according to my research, the excel looks like a lot of fun . I'm not exactly sure if they are available in Canada iether.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I can't speak on the excel. I did spend most of the day yesterday though shooting two different HMRs. A Savage thumbhole stocked stainless and a Ruger heavy bbl'd stainless. I love the feel of the savage, and I like the accutrigger. I HATE their 5 round magazines, not because they are only 5 round, but because the fit is so horrible I've missed a good shooting opportunity due to fumbling on reload. At least on mine you kind of have to jiggle it just right. Cheap, shoots pretty good, but not as nice as my centerfire savages. I also have a ruger... bit on the expensive side compared to the savage, was the nicest one they made back when HMR was new. Haven't shot it for years, but yesterday decided to get it some new glass on it and sight it in. The only thing I 'missed', was what a great shooting gun it is. Absolutely amazing how easy sub moa groups are with that thing. Haven't touched the trigger from factory and its crisp and perfect. Like all rimfire rugers it has a rotary mag... nine rounds of flawless feeding with a nice flush mount on the bottom of the gun. Not a light gun, I think it has a 24" barrel, but its a freakin awesome shooter and worth lookin into if you like HMR. Extra mags are easy to get they are the same as the 22magnum ones.
Add: if you're in the market purely for a semi HMR, and if you have money, you can't go wrong with a volquarsen.
