excel Ammunition Company

Does anyone know if excel Ammunition Company is still in business? If so, who sells their products?

Thanks!

Excel bullets is out of business. In their place, Aim Projectiles now makes hard cast plated bullets of much higher quality, and you can get more info at the Aimweb site (a CGN sponsor) at www.aimprojectiles.com

Let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

As others have said Excel is long gone out of business.

AND THAT IS A GOOD THING.

Marty was a skunk plain and simple.

His product sucked. Well unless bullet cross sections are supposed to be OVAL!!

His integrity also sucked.........he took EESA for about $650 worth of range lead that he was going to "trade" for bullets. The bullets never arrived.

Then he said that he was just going to pay us cash and the cheque would go out next week.

Then it was the following week.

Then he left the country.

Did I mention that I do not have any respect for him?

In the end I would like to point out that AIM stepped to the plate and has made up for all the bad things Marty made me think of Canadian bullet suppliers. They are terrific people.

Yeah, he left a few people holding the bag when he split. Not a nice way to treat people.

I've still got a bunch of the Oblong shaped 200gr SWC. They mic in typically between .450-.453". Great for practicing malfunction drills, not much else that will make a glock sputter as much as Excel bullets will.
Oddly enough, the round nose 230gr bullets, are just as inconsistantly sized, but seem to work without any issues.

Are you referring to the Aim 230's? If so, how are they inconsistently sized? We're double-striking everything so the size should be consistent at .451" diameter. However, if you or anyone is having any sizing issues I'd like to know about it.

You can't fix what you don't know is broken......

He's referring to the Excel 230's which were extremely useful when kept in the box, as a paperweight stopping old newspapers from flying about....

Ya...I have 4 boxes of .40 cal Excel Jelly bellies downstairs. What a crappy bullet.

The Aim products are great...and the folks in charge have really gone out of their way to work with the shooters.

From Excel to excellent

I have some Aim's 124grains bullets, that are over sized. They should be .355 in diameter, found out the hard way the bullets kept on jamming in my firearm. Used my caliper & found out the diameter of these 9mm bullets were .357-.358 i was pissed mad:(, i've loaded 5,000 rounds of this oversized crap which i have to dismantle:(. I will not deal with them ever again. Their bullets were good when they first started, now it seems that the quality control is out the door. Just like Marty's crappy bullets. Cam pro bullets gets my bussiness now.

Hey Quigley, can you bring those raisins with you to the next match we are overlapping on? You aren't shooting .40 anymore are you?

They should actually be .356 as indicated on their website...

I had a bit of an issue with the 2nd generation 124's...but the new profile of the 3rd generation are much better. I use the other ones for practice...

They are all sized at .356" AFTER plating so unless the sizing die is messed up (I doubt it) they should all be within spec. If they aren't, then we'll fix it. As well, if you look at our web site there is some documentation there on the sizing.

But you know, if you had a problem you could have contacted me and we would have been pleased to help you and maybe even compensate you for your trouble...as we have with every single complaint we have had so far. Customer service works both ways; it's a relationship. You have to let us know when you have a problem or we can't address it. Crabbing about something like this publicly without even giving a vendor a chance to address the issue is not very conducive to that whole "relationship" concept.

Hey, If you had to dismantle 5,000 plus rounds, then tell me how you would feel. I've driven to Aim's 1 1/4 hours each way, their & back. Besides awhile back i needed .44 cal bullets, & was told in afew months they would have them, then when i called, they said in 6 months, i called 6 months later, they said after the .40 cal run was finished they would have them. The last time i called they said, they won't be producing the .44 cal bullets. I waited a total of 14 plus months for this kind of run around. So why bother with the 9mm bullets. People & companys are judged by their actions. I go by past experience.

Well I wouldn't load 5000 rounds without checking anything in the first place so I guess I don't know.

I've posted in the dealer forums repeatedly on this issue, as well as on the Aim web site and I've been very clear about the situation regarding .44's. I've explained that .44 caliber bullets are on the radar for later when some of the R&D costs can be recouped enough to justify developing a limited demand bullet like these. I don't know who you spoke to, but I don't think it was me.

Indeed they are. Sorry for your inconvenience.

I heard that the old Excel equipment was being used in a candy factory to produce jelly beans????What's that all about??
