Excellent Cheap Pistol Case

Good sale stuff at Princess Auto disappears quickly, so you need to read the flyers ahead of time and be prepared to go in the first couple of days. If you're in the parking lot before the doors open on Tuesday, you will *not* be the only one waiting!

They seem to follow a philosophy of amassing everything before the sale, then dumping it out on the floor for the rush; they are not holding any of it back in the stock room at that point. They also do not get re-stocked during a sale period. Sometimes they're caught short, in-frequently an advertised item won't be on the truck and they'll have to issue a rain check.

I went when they first opened and got one small case (already plucked for my Sig Sauer P229 and five magazines) and one medium (waiting on some accessories before I can utilize it for my target pistol). The Halifax store had 50 of the little ones and merely 10 of the medium, so I told all my buddies go today if you think you need one (I wasn't greedy). Clearly not as refined as the Seahorses they imitate, but well worth the bargain price.

Keep watching for the next sale and remember to act quickly. Last time was the larger size, next time maybe it'll be the XL?

Try ordering from the web site when you miss the in-store opportunity, but if a case is $12 off and it costs $12 to ship, figure that out…

picked one up in Calgary . Thanks Ganderite . Heads up for anyone in calgary , they also had holsters for revolvers and T/C contender pistols in the airsoft , BB gun section.

The trucks come in before the sale and they start stocking the shelves days prior to the actual sale. If it's something they have little of or will be a huge seller and might be gone before the sale, then they put a small amount out and stock it the night before/morning of the sale.

In addition to rainchecks, you can also get sale prices 30 days before and 30 days after the sale so don't be afraid to ask someone on the floor if you're buying something not on sale or if you just missed the sale. If you can't make it into the store for the sale, call and get them to put it on hold and pick it up at your leisure within 7 days.

I worked at a couple of PA stores for a few years.

Went two rows of foam between each pistol. the 16" case will do 6 no problem. Probably more if you went one row between which would probably be fine.

What are you using for gun locks? Regular trigger locks won;t work with your set up I don;t think. The most I got in my case was four with gun with trigger locks.

I use em too. What I did is removed and replaced the top pick'n'pluck foam layer with a sheet of layered polyethylene foam from Lee Valley for 10 bucks. Much more durable and feels much more secure to me.

If anyone needs a bigger pistol case than the one listed, PA has one that's double the size with wheels for about double the price.
Anyone in GVRD, Coquitlam has about 3 left out front. No idea on Langley.

There's also a $20 range bag but I couldn't find it, nor someone to find it for me.

EDIT: I lied. It's only about 50% bigger than the one OP listed.

Anyone know of a single or perhaps double pistol case not bigger than 14x10x2.5" that won't break the bank? Those PA ones look great but too big for my needs.

They do have something like these that do fit your depth requirement:

Thanks! Goldilocks moment there. First one is too small, last one is too big but the in the middle looks just about right. Anyone have any experience with these?

Here is another. Sales gone through the little ones, now the medium... wondering if the large will be next.
