Excessive Pressure??

Have been working up some loads for 30-06 and started with recommended load of 54.2 grns of RL-19 pushing 165 grain Hornady SST, I was at the range today and noted that the primers are backing out accuracy was great at 100 yards, Hornady manual states that sometimes pressures that are too low can cause this . I had other rounds with higher powder charge loaded but was worried about shooting them. Max load recommended is 58 grains of RL-19. Open to any suggestions

no they were normal

probably too light a charge. Its different for each gun. My guess is that pressure wasn't high enough to keep the casing pinned back against the bolt, allowing the primer to back out

I have a 30-06 that is just right at 60 grains of RL 19 behind a 165 grain Partition.
Velocities are quite normal, and no excess pressure signs at all.
I suspect your load is too light. Step up a grain or two.

I agree with too light of a load but must also ask, Federal Brass?
