Excessive wear on Raptor charging handle

Totally normal. Any time two parkerized/anodized surfaces rub directly against eachother, there is going to be loss of finish. No biggie.

Personally, I put a little grease on the contact points of my CH to keep it nice and slick.

Got it.thanks
But is it not excess wear to charge it only 50+ times???
No, if its dry, you're going to wear off more of the finish than if it was lubed. Guess it also depends on fit and finish, as well as finish of the CH itself, whether it was parked or anodized, or cheaply painted.

Typical wear, it will stop once the rifle is broken in, excessive wear is when you start seeing your charging handle getting gummed up with aluminium power and oil.

Looks awesome, much better than safe queens.
Carry it lots, use it lots, wear it lots, that's the best respect you can give a gun.
Once your whole upper+lower shows nice wear like that all over, make sure you share some pics.

I've seen the same wear on American, Canadian, Chinese ARs alike.

Charging handle wear is user/upper/CH mfg and lube dependent. The more you torque it on one side, the more it's gonna wear. Upper interior specs, machining and finish will play a role as well. CH finish quality. Your lower too.

Don't sweat it, I've seen a CH that had one side worn down to half the original thickness and was still working.

^^^This...nothing cooler than a well used, but well cared for gun...

This is one rifle with a couple of grand through it. The only way to have both sides wear evenly is to rabbit ear the charging handle every time. This becomes difficult when a scope is mounted so it will torque to the left when pulling on the catch.

The finish is worn on your charging handle?!??!? NOooooaoooaOOOOOoooo. It is now a useless piece of junk. You should recycle it or just throw it out. You might have heard there is a rare metal in charging handles, and thats why companies are selling them so high. I have a small operation here and am willing to give you 5$ for it AND pay shipping so I can get those metals out :D pm me!

X2

I'll do $10

I just love people quickly bashing Norinco for anything...
but if this was NEA it must be operator error or bad batch or whatever, you guys make me laugh lol
Some Norinco stuff is junk, some are not, some are freaking bargains (EM331),
Nork M4 is cheap but no junk, both my KAC and NORC has 20k thru each and NORC is on a 2nd barrel I bought used, no issues, and I baby my KAC and treat my Norc like a cheap prostitute.
to the op, raptor handle will wear as quickly as you take them out of the package, I own 4, all worn on the first outing.

my new(3rd) kac upper, brand new handle after the first range trip...I guess that makes my KAC just as out of spec as your Nork :p

Most of my guns are either sold or in storage now as I'm heading off to Australia soon, here is a old pic of a Nork I sold, and another pic of IUR sitting on my nork lower.
the Nork lower with it's "cheap" "out of spec" parts runs IUR like a boss too. only parts I replaced were the barrel, extractor and gas rings...majority of the rounds were kicked out by factory nork BCG but I did run other bolts from time to time for testing.
