Hello Folks!
I have 2 XCR-L, one in the 4### and the other one in the 7### series.
I tried to exchange the lowers and I discover that the 4### is not fitting properly to the 7### upper.
Is this another undocumented XCR-L change?
Do you have more information on this regard?

thanks

Wolverine is the Canadian support and warranty center, contact them.

This is however the first time I've heard of someone attempting to exchange an older/newer gen upper and lower. Could you describe "not fitting properly"? Perhaps could you post some pics?

As you see I have 2 of them:

  • Above is the 4### configured for CQB in 7.62x39
  • Below is the the 7### configured for long range in .223
Originally I wanted to simply put the FAST stock to the 7.62x39 CQB
But I discover that the stock retaining's nut is gone. It is impossible to open without destroying it. So came the idea to simply exchange the complete lower.
the lowers appear to be the same.

but the bolt release is different the 4### one:

the 7### one, notice how is bigger:

I'm not sure if this is the cause, but when you fit the lower and the upper part a split remains, so the lower is not firmly anchored.

hope this clarify the issue.

It is already known/documented that the newer xcr have bigger bolt release.

Also for the newer xcr, you are able to open the upper all the way.
I believe in the older xcr, you can only open the upper receiver a little bit.

Solution is to not swap them.
Why would you want to anyway?
I know, I know, they should swap. If they both work fine with the lower they came with then leave it at that.
There is nothing wrong with either of them.
Be happy and enjoy them.
