Excuses!

A happy wife is a happy life.

Anyone who tells you differently has a thing or two comin' to them.

Here's my way of dealing with my toy expenses (firearms, music instruments and gear, etc): pay CASH as much as you can. If you're comfortable in putting $2,500 on a CC, then that's fine as well, but save up the coin and show her that you aren't putting the household financial situation / budget in crisis.

My wife has never said a thing for any of it..it's a question of being responsible. We'll have to get the roofing redone on our house this fall (it's a 15y/o house with basis builder shingles..) and it's going to run us about $5,500 for the higher end product. Will I be buying another black rifle until then. Nope. Why? Cause I don't need the grief, both from her and the financial burden & headacke!!

exactly. thats 100% how i do it. minus the "headACHE" LOL....

This is how I keep my toy purchases from giving my ex a heart attack!

But do tell us how you really feel

Its not a question of asking, in my situation at least, but one of just sayin' "hey i'm looking at getting this soon".

Simple and to the point.

But I don't see you agreeing to even that.

And why should I. It is my money. I don't tell my wife how to spend her money.

Actually if I did as you say, the wife would look at me as if I had gone insane and tell me she doesn't care what I do with my money.

. I'm lucky and I know it. I don't have to worry about explaining my gun expenditures but it is not because its my money and I am a gunna spend it how I want! Actually, now I kind of feel sorry for you...

You feel sorry for me cause I get to do what I want? Hookay

Your situation is hardly what the OP and the rest of the guys here are talking about. They are all trying to work out the best way to lie to their wives because they haven't got the balls to just buy something they want and can afford.

I'm not saying you shouldn't talk to the better half about stuff. If that's your choice, have at 'er. I'm just laughing at the pussy whipped who are lying to and deceiving their wives because they haven't got the guts to stand up for themselves. That doesn't sound like the basis for a good relationship to me.

Everytime I spend money on parts, I get a dissaproving look from my gf, or a small burst of a rant, she once tricked me/guilted me into saying I would stop my hobby... lol, I guess I lied, but I dont really blame her for not loving guns, she got shot twice when she was 6 by her uncle...
Its just easier to do it and say "sorry had too couldnt help myself" she is not gonna argue with you is she ? I always throw in the "this could help us protect ourselves and our family one day, provide food, its better than a stick" in there...

I think you and I have very similar outlooks on relationships. It always baffles me when guys tell me "how it is" just because it's that way in their relationships. I feel sorry for those that are being controlled.

My wife actually asked me twice when I sold my last black rifle: "Are you sure you want to sell it?" Bless her heart... (and she really likes the HK P2000 I got for her).

:D How tastefully tenacious of a guy to express how whooped he is when posting on this site (I won't mention any names 'Ben'). At first it sounded like a guy was gonna man up http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i135/joey007937/nervousp1.gif No big deal, family first. Might as well try to save a lil cash http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i135/joey007937/131992861220912.gif Get some of the real thing instead of a tease http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i135/joey007937/wtf44.gif Instead of a potential argument http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i135/joey007937/SpartaJacket.gif

Haha

Already have all the bikes, quads...

Wife was looking at Blaxsuns mag sale before i went out of town and said "honey this guy has the lancers and the pmags you wanted!"

I thought that was the green light untill she got pissed off when i said "so i can buy em?"

An as for the guys who say dont listen to the wife and grow a pair... Either your single or have alpha male syndrome over the net....shortly before the wife tells them to get off the computer and do the dishes hahaha
Since you already have bikes and quads you need a nice ZR1 Corvette, a Shelby GT500, or the new Dodge Viper.
If Japanesse cars are more your style maybe a Skyline GT-R is what you need.
If that doesn't frighten her you end up with a nice new ride.

IMHO If your finances are in order there is no need to ask permission. You work and provide for your family and if there is a little left over you can buy whatever you want.
Does your wife ask for permission before purchasing shoes or handbags?
