Exp needed: Cerakote thickness?

Hey guys, quick question...

I have a barrel with a squeeze fit gas block that I would like to Cerakote so I will need to spin a couple thou off to allow room for paint. I know the thickness of coating could vary but what would you guess is typical for coat thickness?

Properly applied it should be 1/4 to 1/2 a mil.....

Would Nitriding be better??

.5 to 1 thou tl per side is what should be applied. If your gas blocks is press fit then it's not going to work
Our ar15 bbl we make have a gas port area of .750 our gas blocks are .749 +/- 1 though and gas nitride finish
Which only has a surface build op of 5 microns
Your best bet is to polish the I'd of the gas blocks

I might have to... just going to be a pain with all of the parts on a Sentry 7..

If the block clamps on (squeeze fit gas block, ???) then put a wedge in to open it up a bit when you reinstall. If you don't foresee ever taking it apart then Cerakote when it's together.
