Experience flying with a rifle?

Gary please share your experiences or lack there of flying with a rifle.

Where you going? I know that transiting thru the UK with a firearm to get to Afrika is a PIA! Transiting thru Frankfurt is better.

Also, get a robust case. Pelican, or something similar. Flying thru the US with AA the baggage handlers seem to go out of their way to beat and abuse your stuff.

Finally, use a TSA approved/compatible lock.

If you stay with Star Alliance carriers your baggage is checked straight through to your final destination. Just flew through London a couple weeks ago...no issues at all. Done the same through Frankfurt and Istanbul...

Air Canada charges you $50.00 everytime they touch your FA. So if you have connecting flights it adds up in a hurry.

Not if bags are checked straight through to your final destination....you only pay once regardless of connections.
