Has anyone used PPU 30 Cal M80 145gr FMJBT projectiles? What was your experience? Good bullets or something to pass on?

Thanks

FMJBT bullets are generally military style, exposed base bullets. They're fine for plinking/practice but I would never consider them for precision style shooting.

I've shot factory PPU .308, worked fine. It's a general purpose military model round. Expect military acceptable results. 2-5 MOA is normal. Depending on the weapon system it's meant for.

^^^Agreed, I’ve shot a couple boxes out of my Howa 1500. Plinking ammo for sure, was getting 3-4” groups at 100y. Worth trying out for the price and ppu brass is always nice to have.

Good for what?

What rifle?

What application?

What accuracy you need?

CZ 550 308 20" 1:10 twist, Tikka 3x 308 20" 1:11 twist, possibly Tavor 7
Range practice on steel 100-200 meters
2-2.5" MOA (although judging my others' responses, 2-5" should be expected)

Thanks

FMJ can be near match grade, Hornady 150 FMJ shoot really well for me, much better then they should for bulk low cost bullets.
Only PRVI bullets in any caliber that shot decent for me were the 168 bthp 308, never found another decent bullet from those guys.

Bullet accuracy and cost is a compromise.

For serious target work, match bullets are required. They will deliver the max the rifle (and you) are capable of.

For plinking (making noise) the FMJ is cheap and effective.

If you want something better than FMJ, but not expensive, buy a flat base soft point bullet. It will group almost as well as a match bullet to 300 yards, at a much lower cost.

I used to shoot the Hornady flat base bullet to 600 yards, when trying to save money.
