I am building a custom 280 Rem with a 25" barrel. My goal is to find an accurate/fast load for a 150 grain spitzer. Like to know what has worked for you if you have used this caliber and loaded for it.

I have reloaded the 280 for 40 years and have found several good powders all in the slower ranges. I have used Reloader 19 with good results but it seems its main ingredient is unobtainium so I have also used H4831SC with good results. My newest favourite is IMR 7977 which has given me the best velocities I have ever achieved in a 280 with reasonable pressures. One of the challenges in loading for a 280 is that manuals set their pressures to less than the 270 so I have often gone a bit above the max load, using 270 data as a general guide as well as traditional pressure signs and chronograph data.

Remington 700 BDL SS with a 24 inch barrel.
Re19 powder and the Barnes TTSX 140 grain at just over 3000 fps but would suggest working up your own load.
