Experience with chamber adapters?

I've had the 7.62x39 into 303brit and the 45-70 into 577/450. The 7.62x39 into 303 worked ok for around 100rds then it became too stretched to fit into the 303 chamber anymore. The 45-70 into 577/450 didn't fit into the 577/450 chamber from the start so I never used it.

Adaptors

Had 7.62X39 into .303 in a mint Longbranch that lasted all of 10 firings before it started to stretch and crack. Was made of Stainless-steel which might have been to brittle. Was fun to use, but short lived.

I've used the 30-06 to 32acp. I've only put a dozen rnds through it and it's worked OK.

I also have the 308 and 300WM to 30 carbine. I've used it a couple times and it is OK as well. I don't know how they would stand up to long term use.

I think the Hammond Game getter would be a better solution although it is more messing around (sizing the lead balls and using the 22 blanks). You can at least resize the game getter.

I had a .32 ACP in 30-30 and it worked great. Then a .22 mag in .222 and it broke first shot.................There is a guy in Alberta that gets adaptors from them in AK Phone them and get his name + #............hammonds game getter was a PITA to juggle components while surrounded by grouse.I handload cast pistol bullets in rifle cases with Unique.Load and shoot no messin..........Harold

The Hammond can be a bit fiddly if you need more than one shot at a leisurely pace, but it serves pretty well. I've only ever had one time that I can recall, that I had a grouse bail on me that was on account of having to fiddle with loading it up.

Yeah. I can see the attraction to having some light loads on hand too.

I use the ones made by my machinist friend - he used to be in Prince George. He started making them over 10 years ago and they are very high quality. I have one in .308, .30-06, .300 Win Mag and .300 Wby. The accuracy is so-so, which means you generally won't be hitting a grouse in the head at 25 yards.
