Bushnell's rebate has me thinking I might grab a pair of pocket/backpack binos. Something I can take with me for a quick evening hunt/scout or when I'm already carrying too much.

Anyone have a particular bushnell bino that they like that fits the bill? It doesn't have to be Bushnell, but the 30% rebate is mighty appealing.

I have a small fold up pair I bought from Target when they were closing a store near me. They were only 25 bucks but a totally useless for me. They tunnel bad and don't focus great so I gave them to my son and he loves them so not a total waste.
If you can try them out first and find some you like then 30% off would be great. I have had some other Bushnell binoculars and they were good.

^^^^ I can say the same as above. I have a small pair of Bushnell waterproof binoculars that I carry when I am still-hunting and trying to keep the weight down. They are better than not having bino's with me at all. Sometimes I just take my rangefinder and use the 5x magnification on it if I want to check something out. If doing a lot of glassing then better dedicated binoculars are worth the carry weight. WK

Good input guys - I generally only use binos to check out an animal once I've spotted it. I suppose if I ended up with a good pair I would use them for more things :p

A good friend bought a cheap set ($25) then another type ($50) then another, and another etc..... He has spent at least $500+++++...... on junk. Sorry, but that's what they are. If he had purchased just 1 set of decent binoculars he could have saved some $$ AND had something good. If you had some decent bino's you'll likely find you'll use them more often because they don't cause eyestrain and images are much nicer. There are a lot of other brands out there (Nikon, and no, I do not have any of those, just saying) that have a good reputation for quality, take a look at them if you can. Check reviews on any Bird forum. They do reviews and are serious about optics. Best of luck.

I bought a cheap pair of bushnell compact binos years ago, they're alright if you need them in a pinch, better than nothing, that's about it. You get what you pay for. Ide say save your $50 and put them towards something you really want or spend that $ on a nice supper for yourself. Just my 2 cents.
