experiences with current day quality of Marlin 1895's ?

I have to agree with the remlins that were produced the last couple of years. They do not seem to have the issues that the earlier remlins have. I have owned 3 Remlin GG's. 2 2011's and 1 2012. No issues with cycling and, of course, firing. Each had one cosmetic blemish. Overall, they were great rifles. One of my GG's went to an acquaintance whose been happy with the rifle. I now only have a GS left and that will probably go soon as I finally found my 1895 SS.

I went through two remlins within a week. Both looked excellent on the outside and cycled pretty good. The first one the loading gate screw broke off when i inserted the first round.i exchanged the gun the next day and got another and went to the range. After a couple of days i took it apart to clean and i decided to pull the magtube off and i found that the reciever had cracked under the barrel.i returned it the next day and demanded my money back. I found a pre remington within a week. An 1895 cowboy. The finnish is way nicer and the smoothness of the action is no comparison.
