What do you guys think of this powder? Any good loads with any caliber/bullet combinations?

It's my understanding that in some calibers you can get higher velocities while still keeping pressures at a safe level. But I've also heard it doesn't give the best accuracy in any combination.

I was thinking of trying some in my .338 Win mag. but perhaps RL-19 or H4350 is a better choice?

How about loads in the 30-06 class or is this more of a short magnum powder?

I have only tried it on one round to compare to two other powders. One, it was the quickest round, two, it was the least accurate, as the group spread out. At this point I don't know how rto rate it, more testing is needed. On the Win. mag I would go with RL22 as this slower burning powder tends to keep pressures realistic and velocities are increased.

i'm in prossess of trying it in 300 and 325 wsm. have loaded in 270 win with 130 and 140 grn. very good accuracy with both untill i upped the powder charge 1 grn to book max. groups opened up a couple of inches. i'm going to load up more one grain under max for more testing as it showed a lot of promise.

I love it. It works very well in my .260AI, I am well below max load in my rifle but thats where my best groups happen to be. I am looking forward to trying it in my 6SLR, if my parts ever come in.

Ive used it in numerous cartridges from 6mm Rem to 338-06. It's a good fit in any application you'd use IMR 4350 in. Velocity is very fast and accuracy is usually good, even better than H4350 in a few of my loads

That's all I feed my 243 and 243 AI with. I've had good accuracy and high velocity with bullet weights from 75-105 in the 6mms. I've tried it in the 30-06 as well but not much.

RL 17 is the best powder I have ever tried in my M700 Classic 7x57.
High velocities and very accurate. [140 Accubond]
It is also my powder of choice with my 300 WSM, using the 165 grain Hornady GMX
Again, great velocity and fine accuracy.
Just starting to work with it in my 6mm Remington.

I have gone thru 6lbs of R17 - i liked it! I use it in 325 (200gr)and 300wsm (180gr), 7-08 (140gr), and tried in the 260 (123gr). I worked great in the WSM's and the 7-08, but h4350 won out in the 260.
I would guess for your use, as suggested, go with RL22 - my bud uses that in his 300RUM and another in a 338WM and 7mmRM and its the cats meow!

I have read about temp sensitivity, but my groups didnt change much hot or cold...the only issue I had, and it was with all powders(well, 2 issues with almost all powders) is that (1) when its 35c+ outside, that affects the pressures a bit in everything! and (2) its hard to find any powder period!

Its a great powder to achieve max speed in many cartridges,my 3006 Rem 700 22" runs 165gr Accubonds at 2825 with excellent accuracy.Problems with RL17 its a double-base powder and it created premature throat erosion in my friends F class 284 win. and can be temperamental in the hot days of summer

In my 6.5 Mystic/260 improved, got extra speed. Didn't get anymore accuracy.

best accuracy was at the same speed as my H4831SC loads. Was a pain to keep intune.

Stopped using it pretty quick. Might still have most of that lb if anyone is near Summerland and curious.
