is the webpage for Chiappa's 22 upper, said to fit (almost) any AR lower.

It's available from a few sponsors- think Frontier, among others, sells it.

BUT, internet reviews seem mixed, like so many products.

Wondering if anyone here has tried it, and how it's worked for them.

Thanks in advance!

I have one and had two bad experiences with it.

After a thousand rounds the bolt came apart on me and I had to send it back to the vendor for replacement under warranty. Thank goodness I was out only the shipping for this.

The next problem was I was able to peen the chamber with a spent round in it.

I would go with the CMMG upper instead.

mmmm. disappointing.

it's partly a case of the chiappa being offered at, shall we say, a fairly cheap price. but it sounds like 'cheap' might be the right word.

thanks for the feedback.

Same thing happened to mine, took a few months to get it back from North Sylvia under the warranty.

The handguards that came with it were kind of wonky has well, they would rotate around the barrel.

That being said, after I got the replacement bolt and changed out the handguards, I've had zero problems with it after 2000+ rounds. It shoots fairly well with all sorts of ammo, don't get as many stoppages when compared to other semi 22's.

Had one on a Norinco lower. 4" @ 50 yd. Couldn't hold zero. Found out why when putting it in a rack at the range. The barrel came out! It looked like they didn't use enough glue during assembly. Yes, glue. The barrel is glued into the plastic receiver. I tried to reglue it but I couldn't get any accuracy out of it. Sold it at a huge discount and got a CMMG. Absolutely no problems and 1/2" @ 50 yd.

Thanks to all....

I've read enough, um, 'questionable' experiences to turn me off the idea. Hopefully your pain will save others some too.

I've got one. Only a few hundred rounds through it so far though. I found the polymer upper to be VERY tight to assemble with my Eagle Arms lower. And it wouldn't install at all on my Palmetto Lower. Had really tight tolerances.

I found a used Cerro Forged upper receiver for cheap and replaced the upper with that. Now it fits any lower I've tried it on. And it feels way more solid now. Other than the polymer upper being tight to fit, I have no complaints at all.

Its definitely on the "inexpensive" side but my daughter has a pinked out one on an Omni polymer lower and it works well when she is knocking over 2x4 stubs ends at 50 yards. She does use a scope so not sure about the sights supplied. The mags seem decent so far (I got 4) though they stick in some lowers. The upper was a snug fit into the Omni (required a mallet to seat and soft punch release the takedown pin) so I tried it in a Dlask and it was the same, very snug fit. More so than an Accu-wedge fit but it did go and performed well so far.
