Experimental Longbranch 22 Hornet?

I've seen one other for sale however did not record any detail. Did Vendor provide serial number? Interesting to know if barrel is lined, 22 rechambered or true 22 centre fire? I see the ejector system is similar to the British No7/9. Is it mag feed or single shot? The rifle is definitely patterned after military EAL...wondering if it is there production? Pls post any info you have on this rifle. Ron

There was one at a Kamloops Gun Show about 20 years ago. It was there with a laminated stocked Long Branch and a Long Branch T. All were in as new condition. They were very pricey at the time, the T was tagged at $1500 with all accessories and transit chest. I was seriously looking at it but the house reno was turning out to be more urgent. I wasn't sure about the laminated rifle being real so passed. It turned out to be correct. The EAL hornet was way beyond my knowledge levels and looked to be a very good job of gunsmithing.

The fellow that was selling the rifles wouldn't let people handle them. I don't blame him, they were pristine. I pulled out a pair of surgical gloves and he allowed me to inspect them. They were perfect. I wish I had been in a better financial position.
I heard later that all of the rifles on his table, other than the laminate were sold to a US dealer/collector. That sure looks like the same rifle. Wish it were mine.

They were indeed made and there is even a Canadian military parts manual on it. They were a 5 shot repeater rifle with the magazine being a Savage 340 mag as per the M-4 folding survival rifle found in the aircraft....... Very little info available and I only had the opportunity to hold and read the EO on it and could not get a photocopy.. They surfaced during my research on the EAL story. I have a mag well housing and that is all I have been able to scare up on them
