I see one for sale by a vendor and I figure best not to derail their thread. What makes the function of this gun different to any other direct impingement or piston driven AR10 platform?

There are two ways to get accuracy out of a barrel: free float the barrel or clamp is securely down its entire length to an I beam. The G28 is mostly the latter.

It also fixes the main problem of piston driven AR - they eat aluminum receivers. This one is steel. TANSTAAFL, so it's heavy. Also the tool kit for it would make an F1 pit crew green with envy.

Having fired it a fair amount, it is very accurate, and very well machined. It's best feature by far is the rails allow a great deal of flexibility in attaching the chain from your boat to it.

In what regard?

I can't speak for him, but that was pretty much my comment that I decided to cancel. Insert loaded mag, charge rifle, squeeze trigger, BOOM. The Noveske is without question the better rifle, but let's face it the point would be moot in the dark...insert mag, charge rifle, squeeze trigger, BOOM

Not really relevant to the question either, sorry to the op for adding to the clutter.

edit I'm addressing the Norinco, Noveske comment...I suppose it could apply to the G-28, MR308 comparison as well.

I'm not concerned about clutter. I'm just trying to fid perspective in the subject. I understand (to a degree) why an MR308 is quite a bit more money than a standard AR10 due to the extra moving parts and r&d that would have gone into them. As far as I can tell the G28 is basically an MR308 with different roll marks which is why I asked if I'm missing something. There are a lot of people here who know a lot of stuff that isn't necessarily large scale public knowledge so figured I'd ask before just asks suing they're unreasonably over priced.

The G28E is to the MR308, as what the PSG-1 was to the G3A3, tuned for accuracy with the best of materials. The PSG-1 was also in the $20k price range back in the 80's and 90's, so no surprise the newest iteration of their flagship marksman semi auto is in that price range. You need to pony up the dough if you want the best.

$28000 is the ONLY ONE IN CANADA price, but that status often becomes the first one in Canada, and the price will be significantly lower.

Exactly my thought...
